Model year: 2011 Date Purchased: 2011-06-27 Number of Hours: 520

"This is my 2nd 4231 and I LOVE them both. 1st one had 900 trouble free hours and this one 500 hours of hard use with only normal maintenance. If you have uneven ground or slopes and want stability with the ability to use many different attachments, VENTRAC is a GREAT machine that is built in the USA. This machine constantly surprises people with what it will do! Dual wheels make this VERY stable and great on slopes. The Ventrac is not inexpensive, but is well worth the money. I expect this machine to outlive me."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Heavy-duty commercial quality. Cons: None that would keep me from buying another if I need one. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA VA I also considered buying:

"My first Ventrac 4231 was a 2004 and had 900 trouble free hours. I purchased the 2nd 4231 when I found out EPA regs were forcing Ventrac to eliminate the Briggs Dihatsu 31 Hp. 3 Cyl. This tractor is very well built and has done everything I ask of it. I mow, plow and blow snow, move gravel and excavate, skid logs, airate, and blow leaves. I have towed things that people do not believe it will do and pulled out other vehicles that were stuck. I mow the back side of our pond dam at 35+ degrees and the low center of gravity and articulation keep the Ventrac stable on slopes."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Well Built in USA. It surprises everyone with all it can do. Cons: I would like a sickle bar attachment. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA VA I also considered buying:

"We live on 3.5 acres in Philadelphia, PA. Two acres are lawn, garden, and 1.5 acres are wooded. I use the Ventrac tractor to pull a cart, also a lawn roller. It is the perfect tractor for our property because of four wheel hydrostatic drive and articulated steering, both necessary to protect the lawn and and climb a slight grade in the woods. The articulated steering permits tight turns without. tearing up the turf. The tractor has a liquid cooled 31 hp gas engine ideal for lower noise level. I also have a slip scoop which is great. For grass cutting, a SCAG zero turn 44 " lawn mower does the job."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Manuverable, sturdy, 4 wheel hydrostatic, low profile. Cons: Would like a 3 point hitch w/PTO. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying: Power Trac PT1445, Kubota B2420

Model year: 2011 Date Purchased: 2011-06-27 Number of Hours: 80

"This is my 2nd 4231 Gas - the first had around 800 hours of hard use with no problems and only routine maintenance - used hard, but not abused. The first 4231 was used for mowing (with some 30+ degree slopes), excavating, moving everything from dirt and large stones to large logs and pulling vehicles around and out of places they were stuck, aerating, spreading (seed, fertalizer, and sand), plowing and snowblowing snow, cleaning ditches, blowing leaves, PLUS many more tasks too numerous to mention. I do not believe there is another machine of this size that would handle all the Ventrac does and still be as stable and reliable. Extremely stable on slopes!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Quality, Stability, Reliability, Versatility, Quick change attachments. Cons: Too much fun to use! Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA VA I also considered buying:

"This Tractor has done everything I ask and more. With our 2 most recent big snow storms of around 2' and nearly another 2' the Snow Blower had no problems with the 9 driveways + ours and 1/2 mile out to the main road. Everyone around here is amazed that this tractor will do everything it does. Most of the drives are 1/4 mile or more. I mow, plow, excavate, aerate, grade, and blow leaves with this machine and use it nearly daily for something. Attachments go on and off easily and I've only had to do general maintenance (oil, filters, grease, etc.) No major problems and I LOVE it ! Low center of gravity if you have slopes."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Everything Cons: I would like a little more hydraulic pressure, but they have a reason for limiting it. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA VA I also considered buying:
