Model year: 2014 Date Purchased: 2014-09-10 Number of Hours: 989

"This unit has the cat diesel engine. It can't keep a bearing in the stub shaft that supports all the drive belts. It went out at 5 hours, 150 hours, and now 980 hours. All work was done at a Dixie dealer. Also the rear tire side wall bubble up. I have installed 4 now and at 250 a piece it is not cool. They stopped making them in diesel. What is that telling you? Stay away. "

Model year: 2006 Date Purchased: 2006-06-15 Number of Hours: 1000+

"We bought our 74' diesel in 2006 when our son went to college. We lost our free lawn labor lol. We have run the wheels off this thing with well over 1000 hours on it and have had no major issues. We mow some very rough area including parts of fields etc. We had heard that people have major problems with pulleys and belts which was weird since we hadn't had those issues. We found out that a lot of people were engaging the mowers while at full throttle. BIG NO NO! make sure you engage the mower at low throttle and give your machine basic maintenance regularly and it will last you forever. "
