"Machine preforms very well. Had to have fuel gauge replaced and still having a problem with work lights. Over 200 hours on the machine cutting 2 acres of lawn does a good job. Diesel engine has more than enough power. Overall machine is as good or better than the Kubota's I have owned before and dealer would work with me on price Kubota dealer wouldn't budge on price."

"I bought the tractor used out of the Detroit area and had it shipped to me in Western Washington. It had a hard life before me. I suspect that it lived outside or in an open sided shed. I ended up replacing some control linkages, the tail lights, and the fender assembly. The parts were surprisingly inexpensive. I've used it to build a narrow road/path around out very steep 2.5 acres using a 4' box blade and a 5' front blade. One has to be very careful when cutting the trail across a side hill, but it did the job very well. Probably my only complaint is that at times I wish the front hitch that is used both by the front blade and the snow thrower would lift a little higher, but the lift height is comparable to similar equipment on other tractors. I also have the usual draw bar for the 3-pt and a Rankin post hole digger with a 9" auger. It's great, but could use a down pressure kit. I will be getting the rear hydraulic setup from a 2500 so I can add that on. I'm not sure how I'll setup the control valve for that yet. Overall, I am very happy with this tractor. Probably the only thing I would have Yanmar change in the basic design is to make the fender metal instead of plastic, but the plastic one is pretty darned tough."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Reliable, very cost competitive, and as they say "it just works." Cons: I wish the rear hydraulic setup came as a kit instead of having to figure out the individual parts list. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA WA I also considered buying: Cub Cadet GT2100

"I purchased this tractor, loader and mower used in December. I added a used 60" Blade to the mix as well. I have only used the tractor a couple times to move snow and so far so good. I do wish that I could find a used cab for it though to make snow removal a little warmer. I am in need of a couple small parts and it seems that since the Cub / Yanmar split dealers with parts availability have also split. The local Cub Cadet dealer in my area does not carry nor will they get parts for the tractor. They referred me to a Yanmar dealer which is fine, but they do not stock any parts and need to order everything. I wish I could find a good reliable online source for parts."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy on fuel. Tight turning radius. Cons: Ease of parts ordering since the Cub / Yanmar split. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NY I also considered buying:

"Great mower: - 60" MMM easy to remove and attach. Does not cut long grass cleanly though. My mowing time has been slashed. - Tight turning. - FEL with 4-in-1: glad I got it but slightly disappointed with power though anymore could be dangerous. Super easy to remove and attach. - PTO run mulcher, works like a legend. - Very comfortable and user friendly layout. - Hydro drive seems to take quite a bit of the power. When mowing uphill, need to slow considerably to keep revs up. Hydro drive very whiney in high range but I rarely use this. I live on slopes and am impressed with stability, turned tires out though. - Happy with turf tires. - Fuel consumption is minimal. No problems so far."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy to use. Stable. Economical. Mowing ability. Cons: Hydro-static transmission is HP sapping. Cutting quality poor in long grass. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: AUS OT I also considered buying:

"I use this tractor for mowing and tilling. It has the 60" mower deck. Even after a few dozen times removing it and putting it back on is a struggle. I haven't had any issues with it as of yet other than the seat dry rotting and cracking. Yanmar and the dealer were good about replacing it under warranty. 5gal of diesel mows close to 10 acres. I use a 60" tiller on an acre sized garden. Tills up un-plowed ground easy."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Well built, great on fuel and easy to operate. Cons: Mower deck is hard to remove. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA OH I also considered buying: Kubota B2400

"I have used this tractor for so much work it is incredible and possibly for things it should not be used for. My tractor has the 48"FEL, 60"MMM, 5' backblade, and a middlebuster subsoil plow. It mows 4 acres every week in the summer and plows all the snow in the winter. We put in a new home 3 years ago and have used this tractor non-stop since then. I boxed out and moved all topsoil to shape my driveway (approx 150'L x 16' W). Then placed and graded all stone from large sub base material to top stone. It did all the dirt grading around the home and then placed and graded all the topsoil. The list of what has been accomplished with this machine is too large to list here. Other than the oil seal going out of the gearbox on the mower deck, I have had no problems with this tractor at all. I priced a similar size Kubota and John Deere and the value of the Cub was so much better. After reading the specifications of all the competing machines, the choice was easy. The loader control is so erogonomic and user friendly compared to the other models. The John Deere actually had the exact same Yanmar engine in it so in other words you are paying a lot more for green paint and a name. It is a little disappointing that a few years after buying the tractor that Cub Cadet and Yanmar have parted. The new Yanmar tractors, however, are exactly like the original Cub Cadet Yanmar machines. I feel that 99% of my tractor is Yanmar anyhow and their partnership was just so Cub Cadet's well known name and history could help Yanmar launch their own subcompact tractor lines. So with all that being said I wouldn't hesitate to buy another "Yanmar" tractor in the future."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Very tough for its size and dependable, great value in comparison to other makes, very good fuel efficiency, and million + uses with imagination. Cons: The lack of auxillary hydraulic hook-ups. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying: John Deere 2305, Kubota BX24

"I waited 'till the tractor had a few hours on it till I posted the review. After 175 hours and a couple of years I have to say its been very dependable. I mow 3 acres a week and till an acre of gardens. I'd say it would mow close to 10 acres on a tank of diesel fuel.(about 5 gals). If your buying a new one check the manufacture date, this one was made in 2008 almost 3 years old but sold as brand new. Seat routed and cracked but was replaced by Yanmar with no problem. Great customer service. If your looking to mow a lot of grass, it's a bumpy ass ride."

Pros: Dependable. Cons: Ruff ride for mowing. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA OH I also considered buying: Kubota BX2660

"The tractor has adequately met my needs. I had 2.5 acres of grassed property and about 100 trees. I had a FEL and MMM. So far I've had one of my unlubed pulleys on my MMM go bad and several of my work headlights burn out. I suspect that they really don't like any water on the inside of the hood at all in cleaning. Lately I've been having issues starting so I've hooked up a trickle charger with pretty much no effect. I'll have to troubleshooting it. I maintain it diligently with fluid and filter changes and I must say that is fairly pricey. 320 for three oil air and transmission filters. All in all though it's been okay. Impressive power when it hooks up with traction!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Power, MMM cut quality and overall performance. Cons: Cost and reliability. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA LA I also considered buying:

"Hi, I'm new to the TractorByNet forum but I wanted to add my tractor review for the benefit of others. I got my SC2400 in the summer of 2011. I didn't use it much until last year. I've got a front-end loader and a 4' box blade on the back and the 60" mid-mount mower. The FEL took some getting used to as far as attaching it and taking it off, etc. But, as with everything, it just takes a little practice. I had to pour a little concrete pad to set it on for storage and also to have a solid place for it to sit while I'm taking it on and off. I've spread about 40 yds. of dirt with it so far. Works great! The box blade is also very nice. At first I was having to muscle it on the 3-point hitch with a pry bar. That was not easy. Then, I wised up and got a quick hitch attachment. Now I just back up to it, snap it on and away I go---SO much better! I have 2 acres so the 60" mower makes pretty quick work of that. And, although it's pretty heavy, the deck is actually not too difficult to get on and off once you get the right sequence down. It's little hard reaching in the attach the PTO but everything else is not too bad. I am very pleased with the SC2400 and it performs very well for what I need. However, if I had known that CC and Yanmar were going to part ways and make getting parts difficult I might have gone with a JD or Kubota. The dealer said they are now an approved Yanmar dealership but parts always have to be special ordered. But, thanks to the TractorByNet forums and several posts from other SC2400 owners, I have found a lot of helpful information. As a gesture of appreciation I thought I would consolidate some of the information about fluids and filters for the SC2400 that will be helpful when doing regular maintenance. So, here it is: Coolant - Permanent type antifreeze, Ethylene Glycolin 50% water 50% antifreeze. Capacity - 3.4 qts Air Filter - Wix 46449 , NAPA 6449 , Fram CA9248 Crankcase Oil - SAE 10W-30 Oil Filter - Fram PH6017A , NAPA 1358 Capacity - 2.2 quarts Transmission Fluid - Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid Hydralic Filter - Wix 57103 , NAPA 7103 Capacity - 2.0 gals. Front Axle - SAE 80W-90 gear oil Capacity- 2.6 qts Belt - Part #954-3080 #91 MM60RSe"
