Model year: 2010 Date Purchased: 2010-07-20 Number of Hours: 9

"This machine was purchased from WalMart in Searcy, AR on 7/20/2010. The machine was brought home, battery hooked up, filled with gas, and oil checked. Upon starting it, it ran a little rough but then smoothed out. When almost finished with mowing the 1.3 acres it started running rough again but I was finished at the time. On the second use the gas was filled, oil checked and it was about a pint low. The oil was refilled and started mowing. Again, at times it ran rough and and would then smooth out, it also blew out some blue smoke. I should note that there was over a month between mowings. It was so hot and dry the grass was not growing. At the end of the second use as I was parking it the engine died. On the third mowing, again, the engine was running rough. I made it about thirty feet and the engine died. After getting it pushed back to a place where I could look at it. I pulled the plug. The plug was fouled with carbon and there was no gap on the electrode. There was also a crack in the porcelain. Ok, so maybe that's the problem. I replaced the plug and tried again. The engine ran for a bit and died. I pulled the plug and it was fouled again. I contacted WalMart and they only warranty it for thirty days, by that time it had been past forty days. I the contacted MTD/Yardman and was advised I would have to take the machine to a authorized service center. Not an easy task for someone that is disabled. I had previously owned a Yard Machine by MTD and never had a bit of problem with it for nine years. I feel the machine itself is a good product, but I'm extremely disappointed in the engine on this machine after not even fifty days. By the way this is a Briggs and Stratton engine. "
