"The FX28D Yanmar is a 28hp - at the PTO - 4wd farm tractor with a lot of mass, according to Tractordata.com it is 2 tons before the front end loader is added. Because of its weight this machine does much better than my neighbors' much newer and much more expensive smaller Kubota. The FX28D has a lot of clearance which makes it a bit less stable than construction type small wheeled cut's. Overall reliability has been as expected from a top quality manufacturer. Always starts and runs. I have replaced the clutch (bad pressure plate bearing led to pressure plate loss) and that is it. I got the tractor inexpensively as the machine is grey market and had bed used hard for digging. The bushings are worn and I probably won't bother replacing them as that's a big job and I get stuff done as is. I would recommend this tractor to anyone who is handy enough to work on it, the Yanmar dealers aren't supporting it so you have to get parts from specific suppliers who have connections in Japan. I also want to note that there is no real manual for the machine, just a parts booklet with pictures and part numbers. I was able to get all the parts for the clutch job here in the U.S. as they were standard on many machines. It is an older totally mechanical tractor so the lack of a manual isn't the end of the world. Overall this has been a very good tractor, I would buy it again if I had the chance to do it over again."
