Yanmar 1702 The Tractor That Could

"This has been one of the most capable tractors I have ever owned and operated. It is been very handy with its compact size and enough weight to do jobs that would normally require a much larger tractor. Mine is equipped with a Koyker 120 loader which gives the little tractor about 11 to 1200 pounds of lifting capacity at the pins. Couple this with its tight turning radius and you have a little workhorse that you can get into almost any location. Have used the tractor for almost every job you can imagine and never once has it failed to start even on some of the coldest days. If you ever get a chance to get one of these in decent shape and you're the market for a tractor, I don't have anything bad to say about them."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Very heavy little tractor for its compact size. Yanmar reliability. Cons: That they no longer make a tractor of this caliber. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA IN I also considered buying:

"This is a gray market tractor and that is a bit of a bummer. But outside of that this was by far the best tractor I have ever owned. I have owned a smaller version of the same tractor. How are contractors and a Coyote LB 1914 and this tractor is far better than all of those as far as what it can do. I have rear wheel weights and liquid in the rear tires and a Koyker 120 loader on it the tractor handles it without any problem and is very impressive with how much I can lift with this tractor. I run forefoot implements on it but I feel could probably handle five foot if you took it easy and it digs extremely well. Have use it to dig very large holes. This tractor has set the bar very high for me for anything to replace it however I have just upgraded to a brand-new Bobcat CT 225 with the hydro-stat it is much easier to get on and off of than this tractor with the loader and the hydro-stat instead of the gear drive I hope that the new tractor will be at least as good as my old one."

Pros: Very heavy. Powerful. Very maneuverable. Cons: Gray market. No ROPS. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA IN I also considered buying:

"I purchased this tractor before I realized Yanmar of America will not support "grey market" equipment. I guess this is for legal and liability reasons, but it sure puts us unsuspecting purchasers in a bind. Also, it seems my particular model is not too popular, as, for instance, the YM1500D. It came with an excellent VTec FEL and it was "legalized" w/ROPS and PTO guard, etc. It was "reconditioned", w/14 hrs. on the meter, which was probably a replacement, but a front tire has gone flat already. The wheel, which looks like brand new on the outside, has heavy pitted rust inside, enough to puncture the tube. Also the temp light came on after a couple hours, but that is probably just the sensor. I've read that is a common problem, and can check the coolant temp with a thermometer. "

Pros: Small, tough (I hope) tractor. I can load in the back of my pickup. Cons: No Yanmar support, no hyd. remotes. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MA I also considered buying:
