"1963 new lawn and home took my Dad two nights after work to push mow. After a couple of seasons of that Dad looked for a lawn tractor. He considered a few other brands but liked the Wheel Horse dealer. Vince Held put me at age 11 on a model 875 demonstrator and had me cutting his lawn in 10 minutes. I was never on a tractor before. Vince showed Dad other models and asked what he wanted to do. Dad said I want that one. Vince replied you want me to order you a new model 875 with mower? Dad said, NO I want that one...the one my son's cutting your lawn with. It was Vince's 875 demonstrator but he delivered it to our home the next day. Dad and I could now cut and trim the lawn in one and a half hours. We used the 875 in Washington Twp until Dad sold it to me in 1997 after Sandy and I got our first house in Greensburg. It's still in our garage today but not used much any more since I retired and Sandy had her strokes. It was a great tractor. I hear other people talking about getting several tractors in their lives but I only had the one. That's all I needed."
"This lawn tractor was the first one in the world having a hydrostatic drive. Built around very good quality components like Kohler engine, Delco Remy starter/generator and Sundstrand transmission, it still runs perfectly even after 46 years of service. This nice looking machine is basic, simple, and sturdy. "
