"This little tractor has provided me great service, it's well built with only minor issues related to the vibration of the engine at certain RPMs. I have dug a lot of trenches and used it for all sorts of chores around my mini-ranch. The forks are very handy with the front-end loader. It handles a four bales of hay with ease. Once you have a small tractor you'll never want to do without one!"
"My name is Sascha, I live in Cardup, Western Australia, 5 acre block and had the TYM T273 hydro-static with semi-turf tires from new, did all earthworks for; 275,000 litre rainwater tank, 7x14 meter shed and also earthworks for 2 story house, all on crusher dust (dust from granite or blue metal). The TYM has been working hard with no fail, until last week when I decided to play in the muddy creek on a rainy day so some connectors were earthing and blowing a fuse. I think some mud may have gotten in from constant bugging in the mud. I am very happy with the performance & capabilities of this little TYM, front end loader has been used the most, followed by rotary hoe for firebreaks and then slasher. I have never fitted anything to, or used the mid PTO, due to clearance. I service the TYM myself with ease, the accessibility of the oil filter could be better but I understand the compactness may have been a major reason for this. I used to use cheap coolant, but soon found it was overheating on 45 degree Celsius so now I only use premium coolant, lasting over a year at a time. Position of the radiator is one issue when slashing as it gets easily clogged by seeds and dust and is not easily accessible due to the proximity of the battery. Still, I modified a blower by fitting 5 or 6 mm rubber pipe to the end under a 45 degree angle to be able to get between the rad and the battery. Parts and fluids are readily available here, love the engine & FEL. Seat is low quality/cheap and will soon need replacing as one side carrier has broken. Maybe time to spend a couple of $100 on a quality seat. Even though it is a dinky small tractor, my neighbor frequently borrows it for grading of his driveway and such, even though he owns heavy excavators, compactors and trucks. The TYM does what I need it for and beyond. Built quality is good, except for minor faults like hydraulic pipes degrading due to touching some components & vibration. "
"Overall the tractor is well made and works hard. I've had two hydraulic lines fail because they were routed next to bolt threads and the threads wore holes through the rubber."
"I am totally pleased with my TYM 273 HST w/ front loader. I am on rocky and wet land, the tractor has turf tires and just goes over all of that. Main work is keeping rough growth down with a rear mounted flail mower, perfect. The tractor does tend to crawl a tiny little, but that is okay. No technical problems or faults yet. Looking back I made the right choice, and will definitely consider buying another TYM next time. "
"This is a very good tractor. It handles well, the hydrolics are adequate, and the seat is comfortable. There are a few things I don`t like. 1) The exhaust pipe is not well directed. It blows smoke onto the front of the tractor. I always have to wash it after use (poor planning). 2) The hood latch gives problems, hood fall open. 3) The hydro. transmission is excessively noisy. I have spoken to the dealer and he said he has contacted the company about these problems but the company said there was nothing that could be done about it. I find this unsatisfactory. I probably would not buy another TYM because of it."
"Very solid, with heavy axles, rugged FEL and great 3 cyl. diesel."
"Well after the initial minor problems its been a joy to own. I've written enough on these tractors in the forum to explain the details. TYM is a little lost on quality but the design and function work. VERY maneuverable machine and BH works excellent. Very tough little bugger , but I believe some people think they are earth movers. Mines been flawless for well over 50 hours now. She plowed snow all winter without one hiccup. I would change oils and fluids after a very short period certainly NOT 50hours as suggested more like 10-15hours. Get some all season hydraulic fluid in there and change the engine over to synthetics. I've used it for drainage , septic system, landscaping even bought some bucket forks for carrying odd stuff. The rest can be found in the forums. For the money and at the time it was in my opinion the best deal going. Not sure now what deals are out there or if TYM has cleaned up the small issues that plague these otherwise good little machines."
