"Don't be afraid to mow in high range---it is awesome. I also use the differential lock proactively, before one wheel spins, because, if one spins, you'll most likely either leave a bad burn mark, or tear a hole in the yard."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Fast, durable, reliable, power steering is awesome. Cons: Extremely pricey when purchased new. Debris caught constantly under deck belt covers. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MA I also considered buying:

"The garden tractor has worked pretty well, but getting it serviced has been problematic because the dealer who sold us the tractor went out of business three years ago. Although a number of new dealers have appeared, the closest servicing dealer is 2 counties away. I had to replace the mower belt and it took a week and a half to get it. The dealer had the tractor at their shop for 2 1/2 weeks and sent it back and the belt broke the day I got it back. I removed the mower deck myself and installed the belt, put it back and now I am having trouble hooking the PTO back up. One must pull back the sleeve, fit the PTO on the shaft and then release the sleeve. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Nice cut, durable, nice features including front end loader, PTO underneath and on the back with a 3 point hitch. Cons: Getting it serviced has been problematic since the selling dealer went out of business. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA OH I also considered buying: Toro Timecutter SS

"This is one tough machine. We have three of these and we use them to plow, till, mow, and haul gravel, dirt, mulch; anything we need it to do, it performs great. The 24.5 HP diesel motor has plenty of power for heavy work. The Legacy XL is 4 WD which makes it even better."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Lots of power and versatility; easy on fuel; we love the foot controls so we don't have to change any gears. Cons: Haven't found any. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying:

"We have 3 Legacys- 2 for mowing and 1 with loader. We mow 7 acres with these machines during the summer. The Legacy XL with the loader is used for hauling dirt, gravel, wood from the woodpile to the house, removing snow and lots of other uses. We wouldn't be without our Legacys!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: These are the easiest mower to use. Love the foot controls Cons: There's nothing we don't like about these machines Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying:

"One would not normally look at a Simplicity as a all-around tractor with a FEL. Having owned an older Legacy for about 8 years an using it primarily to mow and blow snow if Oshkosh, WI got any. I was always impressed with the mowing capability of the 25 HP legacy 2wd I had used for years. I also have a 1985 Kubota 7200 I had used for tilling and brush cutting. I had purchased a poor man's FEL, one that used a three point hitch but had dual cylinders for tilt. It actually worked quite well for digging and moving as long as you did not need to lift and dump. One other requirement is you needed a rubber neck. I now have all the features in on package. I am impressed with the loader capability. It can pick a lot of weight even without the counter weight. One dealer I talked to said they never use one. A friend of mine used to work at a Simplicity dealer and ran the service department, and told me to make sure I put at least 300# to 400# in the counter weight to make sure that I don't do damage to the front axle as they are expensive to repair. I love the controls and location. The FEL removal and install is the best and can be done in two minutes or less without any pins to pull or insert. Power seems great and infect I had been mowing at 2800 to 3000 rpm. Seems to be much more efficient on fuel. I mow about 4 acres and have another 5 to play around on."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Versatile, good turn radius, I use the FEL for everything. I would like to find or make a fork extension to attach to bucket without tools. Cons: None so far. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA WI I also considered buying:
