Model year: 1983 Date Purchased: 2008-12-15 Number of Hours:

"This tractor was given to me as a project tractor! It had been parted off for some parts. It was missing a steering gear box when I picked it up from my brothers farm in Oregon. The parts book and operators manual came with it. I started looking online for a steering box---wish I had known that it was a Chevy Vega Box---well I found one in SD, I think. My brother in law had some narrow rear tractor tires that I thought would work better for plowing. I then replaced the front tires with the correct size spare tires and changed them from 4 hole to 5 hole by cutting the wheels to make this switch. About a week ago, I wanted to hang a John Deere tiller in it and got to the power takeoff and found in was inoperable! The rear PTO electric clutch had also been parted off. I am finding that a big problem with that is finding a serrated splined hub 3/4 inch (female) to make the PTO unit work again. The tractor seat was held together with bailing wire! Fixed that. If someone was to find one of these tractors that has not been striped for parts I think they would have a great find. Some have been re-powered with Honda engines and loaders made for them. "
