"I bought this tractor, with model 120 front loader , used with 132 hours on it. It was a repo and I bought it on Auctiontime for $15,000. The only problem I have had with it was that a mouse stuffed the muffler with corn which popped when I started the engine after about a month unused. Some of the corn blew back into the exhaust valves and that limited compression to levels that wouldn't support combustion. One thing I wish was better was the paint which fades from red to hot pink. And it doesn't need to be so noisy. But other than that, I have had 600 trouble-free hours of use"
"Well I thought I was really getting a good tractor for a good price. Went with a new tractor for the 5 year warranty. I have a regular day job so I wanted the tractor to work when I needed it. traded Kubota 21 TLB. So far Kubota had less problems than the new Mahindra. Right off the bat, the tractor started lugging down, expected more power fron 40 HP especially after running a 21 HP. Not the case. Dealer had it twice. Once said fuel looked bad and drained tank. Not fixed, then replaced fuel lines. again, ran better, but now after 30 minutes, starts to sputter and blows blue smoke for about 20 seconds and then recovers, but exhaust sounds completely different. Have appt. with dealer to adjust fuel pump timing. Just under 50 hours the hydraulic line blew out at pump. Took two weeks to get a dowty washer. Factory rep offered to send me fluids for first (50 hr) PM. Never saw them. Now (87 hrs) tractor has no electrical power at all. Dealer says to check in-line fuse. Geez, what does it take to have a well-engineered, good running tractor for home use? It not like I am making a living with it, and would not want to based on the reliability."
"We have had NOTHING but problems with this "Hunk of Junk" as I refer to it. My husband bought this new and I am truthfully unsure of the date purchased or what year it is but it was just recently paid off. We have had it in for so many issues and this is just a portion of the last letter I wrote to Mahindra. Well, we are again back to square one on this lemon of a piece of junk tractor. My husband who has been gone since April 5th on a military deployment came back for the 4th of July weekend and went to use this piece of junk tractor and again, it broke. This time it is a drive train issue. If I could take this tractor and drive it up someone's driveway and park it and put a sign on it "Piece of Junk" I would do just that. He has only used this part of the tractor 3 times and you want to tell me this is right that it breaks after only 3 uses? Rear differential lock. Don't think so. Have had three different hydraulic leaks, a hydraulic line rubbing on starter solenoid that was shooting sparks, and now this? Hum, it is not a lemon? This was one of the first tractors of this model off the line and I am telling you here and now that it is a LEMON. This is about my 5th letter to customer service who claim "we want satisfied customers" but yet they blow me off each and every time. I am so frustrated and my husband is back on deployment. What's a girl to do??? If anyone can tell me who to report this too I would surely appreciate the information. I am totally baffled and frustrated to say the least. I loathe this tractor with a passion and partly because I talked him into getting a new tractor and not a used one. I had more faith but this has quickly disappeared. We had a 1974 which was 5 times the tractor this is. It was a Case IH... If anyone can help please advise. I am at my wits end...."
"I only have 5 hours on the tractor so far but I am extremely satisfied with it so far. I bought it to replace a Deere 4105 that I did not care for and in my estimation the Mahindra 4035 is twice the tractor the Deere was. The added weight of this tractor is very noticeable, it feels very stable. The power is impressive and the lift capacities are significantly higher then either the Deere or any other comparable makes. At this early point in ownership I would highly recommend this tractor to anyone."
"Solid dependable tractor. I use it to bush hog, maintain roads, help with tree management, light grading, unloading items delivered to the house, etc. I grew up with Fords 9N, 2000, 3500. Parents on a nursery and we did landscaping, etc. So, my expectations were high thus far I have been very pleased."
"I purchased my Mahindra to maintain my road (I am now also maintaining the common road that I share with my neighbors), driveway, and acreage. I have the FEL, 6' bush hog, a set of pallet forks, and a Woods 6' 6-way scrape. My little tractor has done everything I have asked without any issues. From grading and bush hogging to pushing up and carry rather large trees to the back to be either burned or worked up. I love the weight and power of the tractor. I bought the HST so my wife could use it as well - I should have asked her if she really intended to or not - I might have selected the shuttle shift. Select the proper range and step on the pedal is really nice. The 4x4 and ability to lock out the differentials is nice. Support from the dealer has been great - shout out to Mike @ Mahindra in Madison TN. So far, so good."
"I purchased the tractor assist in the various chores in and around the home and to maintain two of the roads on the way out to black top. I have been very pleased with the tractor thus far. I pull a 6-foot bushhog, have the FEL, a set of pallet forks (very useful) and a 6-way scrape blade. I have not found anything the tractor can't do as yet. Getting used to the HST and selection Lo, Med, Hi ranges for the work I am doing has been the real learning curve."
"Every time I start my tractor it blows Hydro lines. It has made me the joke of our neighborhood. Every time I wheel the tractor out to help a neighbor or do a chore it sprays fluid all over everything. It has spent more time in the shop then on my little 10 acre place. "
