"It's been a reliable unit for almost 3 years. The other day, however, she bogged down under "no load." I changed the fuel filter after removing, by mistake, the fuel pump which I had mistaken for the filter. I know air was allowed into the line and am in the process of purging the air from the fuel lines. I'm not sure if the fuel filter was the problem in the first place but I am getting darn frustrated trying to get the unit to run without bogging down after a minute or so. I am currently trying to clear the lines starting from the tank. Bottom line: This is not the time to ask me for an evaluation!"

"Had never owned a new tractor. Beat myself up pretty bad for spending the money on a new tractor then after using it, I beat myself up for not already having it. As long as it is used within its size limitations it is a very efficient, versatile tractor. I use 5' implements with no problems and the front end loader is used almost every time I am on it. Our hunting property is very hilly and the 4 wheel drive comes in handy and works great when using the disc harrow. I would recommend this tractor to anyone who needs a small compact tractor. So far it has done everything I needed it to do in an efficient manner."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy to operate, solid construction. Cons: Needs beefier parking brake assembly. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA AL I also considered buying: John Deere 3032E, Kubota L3200

"This tractor is great on fuel, so with 13 hours, the first fueling seemed to create a problem...no power and the tractor barely runs. I have been trying to purge the fuel system, changed the fuel filter, blew out the fuel lines, and so far the problem still exists. Next step is to loosen the fittings at the injectors to continue the purge. The 3616 has "bleed screws" to assist in the process, but the 3016 does not. Also, there is a recall on the three point hitch assembly that needs to be corrected. I like the tractor, so I hope that it is not going to be prone to problems."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Fuel efficient. Cons: Susceptible to fuel system issues, which is surprising since there is a fuel screen in the fuel fill snout. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA CT I also considered buying:

Excellent Tractor, Does Everything I Ask

"I bought this tractor last year, and have been happy with the performance in every way. I looked at Kubota when I was shopping around, but for the same tractor with same implements, it was $7,000 more (almost 25% higher). The only thing I liked better on the Kubota was the seat. I wish I would have gotten the 3616 every once in a while, I can still do all the same work, it is just a little slower with the smaller engine. I have pulled 40 foot oaks on the ground, moved around 50-60 yards of dirt, dug ditches, regularly brush hog a 5 acre field and move snow, trees and brush all around my property. I also used it to raise the walls and set the trusses on my 26' wide x 24' deep x 10' tall (wall) garage. I have the SS attachment on the ML115 loader, 60" bucket, pallet forks, a 6' rotary cutter, Norse 350 logging winch, and a Wallenstein BXM32 chipper/shredder, and turf tires loaded with 1050 lbs. of ballast and tire chains for my muddy back 20. I have used all the implements without issue, and am very happy I decided to go with the Mahindra 3016. If I wasn't offered such a good price on the 3016 (because it was on the lot already), I would have bought a 3616, but I am still happy every day with my purchase."

"In all the tractor does good but there are a few engineering problems you can't get to some of the cert fittings with out taking the loader off and the rear blade pivot bolt will loosen up you can't get to the nut to back it up with a wrench and theirs too much play to grade level but that's not from Mahindra. My family grows 2000 acres of rice and beans so I've had a lot of time on John Deere equipment and driving trucks to the mill its a good tractor for what I do with it like snow removal and cleaning up and the place."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: The tractor has lot of steel drive line parts that make things stronger and heaver. Cons: Theirs no rim guard in the tires when I brought the tractor. It needs more weight. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA CA I also considered buying: McCormick C50

"A couple of weeks after purchasing my Mahindra, the dealer went out of business. I found that out when I when to purchase a filter for a future oil change---no filters in stock. The stabilizers have broken twice---replacement $170 each time. Fuel gauge quit working. Tractor currently won't start---short in the electrical system somewhere. I've contacted Mahindra---"I'm sorry" response, "someone will be in touch," No one has been in touch. would not recommend a Mahindra except to someone I didn't like. Plus, the $900 optional fork lift I bought works great. Tractor has good lifting power. I should have paid the extra $ for a better tractor."

"Very poor quality steel. 3-pt. parts break or bend easily. 3-pt. does not hold attachments secure. Dealer quit being a dealer shortly after purchase, did not have oil filter or replacement parts in stock, and next dealer is 50+ miles away. Emailed Mahinda with complaint, received an apology but no positive results. Fuel tank gauge quit working."

"I purchased the Mahindra from a dealer that quit being a dealer a week or so after my purchase. I have broken the stabilizer twice $170 to replace each one---it is a tractor and I use it like a tractor should be used. My fuel gauge quit working shortly after the warranty stopped. My loader arms bent slightly under a rather light load, making the loader bucket unevenly engaging ground. I would only recommend Mahindra to the few people I don't like and they wouldn't ask me anyway."

"I have a bunch of landscaping I need to complete and felt a compact tractor would be great, instead of renting. I have never had a tractor before so relied on the reviews and read as much as I could about them. I ended up purchasing the Mahindra 3016 shuttle. I purchase this after looking at Kioti, LS, New Holland, John Deere and Kubota. Price was the deciding factor along with the what I perceived as better specifications for the loader,3 point hitch and PTO power. The tractor came with a front end loader and I purchased a 66 in heavy duty box scraper, post hole auger, and landscape rake. It has done everything I have needed it to do. It has moved a lot of dirt, post holes for a fence and planting trees, snow removal, etc. Since I consider myself a novice with these smaller tractors, I wish the unit had come with rear remotes. They are an option and when I feel motivated, maybe I will install a set so I can have a hydraulic top-link. I have just followed the manual for servicing and have been using Caterpillar branded lubricants in it. I has had the 50 hr service and is waiting for the next service at 150 hrs when I get to that point. The manual is not very well written and is difficult to understand, but the Mahindra dealers on the website always have answered my questions. The tractor has had zero issues to date. It even started last winter having been left outside when it was 15 degrees below zero."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Price, reliability, ease of use. Cons: Owner's manual isn't the best, filters are expensive. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NV I also considered buying: Kubota BX23, New Holland Boomer 30, LS Tractor G3033

"I bought my Mahindra 3016 a year and a half ago and I've used it for things I never dreamed of before buying it. Of course I use it to mow a 7 acre pasture and I use the front end loader for dirt work. The front end loader makes cutting down dead pine trees and making sure they fall in the correct direction, a piece of cake. I also used some ideas I got on this forum to use a subsoiler to bury 2 inch PVC pipe. That worked like a charm, too. This tractor is perfect for my uses and I just wish I'd bought one sooner."
