"So far I've been very pleased with my U5030. I was coming from a MF1533 and wanted a machine with more weight, PTO power (for chipping) and lift capacity, but not so big I couldn't get around in the woods. I felt a full size machine was a tad bit too large. The majority of the 50 hours have been spent pulling stumps, digging out rocks, skidding logs and moving firewood in a 1/2 cord container I built. So far I have had no problems with the machine. The engine is powerful, very smooth and the quietest of any brand I looked at. Even with a very heavy load on the forks the steering is effortless. It shifts through the gears as easily as my truck, changing ranges, engaging the diff lock and the shuttle also work great. One of the main reasons I choose this machine was how well laid out the controls are. Everything feels correct and is well placed. The loader handles heavy loads with ease, though I plan to add a tooth bar to stiffen up the bucket. Other than turning it on to see that it works, I haven't used the PTO - that'll happen when I pick up a chipper in the spring. Since purchasing I added a 3rd fxn diverter valve to run a plow. The only things I'd like LS to change are: 1. The foot throttle is on the sensitive side. 2. I'd like the loader to roll back further. It'd make loading and carrying logs down hill more secure. 3. Due to clearance issues I had the dealer install the low mounted exhaust, which exits out the rear of the tractor. My only gripe is that it points straight down and kicks up a wicked dust cloud. To remedy this, I plan to cut the pipe so it shoots straight back. I'm curious to see how the exhaust is routed on the new line up. 4. Offer a 3rd rear remote Before purchasing this tractor I looked and tested the Mahindra 5035, New Holland Workmaster 55 and the Kubota MX5100 & M6040. The LS felt the best to me and thus far I have no regrets. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

"I purchased this at the end of September 2013 after much research and comparison among all brands. I have had a Kubota B7800 since 2001 and have had few problems. I purchased 40 acres that joined me this year and found myself needing a larger tractor to cut and bale this new acreage. I looked at Kubota first, since I was familiar with their product and had a dealer close by. However, their pricing for what I wanted wasn't compatible with what I wanted to spend. After looking at Deere, New Holland and Mahindra, I came across a gentleman who owned an LS tractor. He has had it for a couple of years and was using it for many of the same tasks that I would be using a tractor for. After reading everything I could get my hands on regarding these "unknown" tractors, I went to the closest dealer to me (about 30 miles away) and took a closer look at them. The dealer did not have the model in stock that I wanted (the U5030), but his other models gave me the things I wanted to look at- motor, build, fit and finish, platform layout, rear hydraulic set-up, loader. After talking to him and getting a price for the U5030, I continued researching and pondering on it. I eventually decided that for what I wanted to spend ($25,000-$30,000), the LS was going to give me the best bang for the buck. I eventually purchased from Scott Holland at RCO Tractor in Greenville, TX, even though they were a 4 hour drive one way from home. They made me a good deal and were good to work with. I have been thoroughly pleased with my tractor. I cut, raked and baled 30+ acres within two weeks of picking up the tractor in addition to moving about 100 4X5's from a location that I had previously stored them. The tractor has plenty of power to pull my 8' disc mower and Vermeer Rebel String baler. The loader handled the bales easily and the rear lift arms with my trailer mover moved the 24' gooseneck with 14 bales with ease. I put a hydraulic top link on along with hooks and a receiver hitch on the bucket."
