"I bought this tractor because I started feeding 6-foot round bales and needed a front-end loader that could handle 1,400-1,500 pounds. My B 7800 could not. I added kits for quick change and 3rd function. What an improvement in utility! The grapples are very useful, and so are the pallet forks. The biggest difference between them is the weight. The B with everything is a little over 2,700 pounds and the L being a Grand model is a little over 5,700 pounds. A tractors ability comes more from weight than horsepower. Sometimes doing things with the B I felt like the tail. Doing the same tasks with the L I know I am the dog. On the weak front-end loader comments. I wonder if engine RPM plays a part. My B is a hydrostatic and when doing front-end loader work my engine RPM is generally not all that high. The Grand L has an additional floor throttle which allows me to easily add RPM which helps a lot with hydraulic power. Bottom line - this tractor does everything I ask of it. "

"This is a great tractor. I moved up from the ford 8M, and man what a difference. I can't complain about the 8N, but this L3830 a work horse I have a front-end loader on it. It is great and versatile. It does lack some break out power on lifting, but I have a 72" square bucket and it still has more power than I need. If it did have more power in the front-end loader, you would probably break something! I own a termite backhoe and it lacks in loader lift too. Maybe it is the way they are designed. And folks, they’re really not meant for digging. I always loosen up dirt with a plow or ripper now. That's where loaders shine and a tractor with a full bucket is no problem. Go anywhere. Overall, the tractor is awesome and the power is unreal!! My only other complaint is that there is no 4-wheel drive light. Sometimes I forget to take out of 4-wheel. We'll see how it does this winter, other than that. I have used it for food plots I bought it to remove snow. We'll see. I'll post again this winter. I was told it is easy starting in winter and to run 10w-30 in winter. We'll see! I can't wait to use the loader all winter! But what a move up from my ford 8N. Now I use it just to mow. I did a lot with that tractor! "

Loader Too Weak

"LS3830 GST equipped with a quick attach loader Model #LA723. The lift capacity is GREATLY compromised with the quick attach assembly. When the bucket is in the rolled down position it will not lift any weight if using a center hook. When working any gravel, its curl is not sufficient to break out same when you are using the machine for ice and snow removal. I think the problem is the hydraulic pump is too small for the machine. The position of the exhaust in such a low location cause the operator to breath fumes. The valve stems are not protected and tend to damage (should have protective cups around them). I had a 1983 L 2250 that would do more work both the tractor and loader. I think Kubota needs to re-engineer the entire hydraulic system in order to handle the loaders specs, etc."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Reliablity. Cons: Loader lacks lift, exhaust underneath, valve stems exposed etc. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA ME I also considered buying:

"I have had this tractor for a few years now, and while it only gets occasional use for season mowing and property maintenance, it has been absolutely trouble free and perfect for my small farm. I would recommend this tractor to anyone and find I prefer the GST to HST I have operated that are owned by others."

Pros: Power, dependability, ease of service, easy to operate. Cons: Wish hydraulic hookups on rear of tractor were standard. Type of User: Commercial Farmer Location: USA IL I also considered buying: John Deere 2840, New Holland 3010

"I am still getting used to the Kubota. So far I have cleaned 20 some inches of snow and plowed my garden. The real reason I made the purchase is to help in firewood cutting. I have ordered a grapple bucket and 3rd function remote. "
