"This is my second Bota. I had a BX23 but that one had a lot to be desired. With 274 hours it leaked at all the connections, the air cleaner housing repeatedly broke from vibration, and the hydraulic pump went out. In all fairness I did purchase used so I can't confirm the use it had. With that experience I decided to buy new this go round. I didn't let that experience influence my opinion of Kubota. The 25D seems to be much better. Kubota may have got it right on this model, we will see. So far it is doing great with one exception. When releasing the forward motion the machine stops instantly. When releasing reverse I have to tap forward to stop otherwise it will coast another 5 feet before coming to complete stop. Not a big deal but it could present a safety issue if working in tight spaces. For what this tractor is designed for it's a great little termite to have around to save the back."
"Right after purchase I had to hook up sewers that were added recently. I dug the 300-foot trench and did all the work myself saving big bucks. This has been such a handy tool. I even use it for cutting wood as I can hold large branches with the thumb on the BH and not have to cut on the ground. No problems other than a small leak in a BH fitting. If I remove the loader and hoe and use it to cut grass it feels like a sports car without all the attachments on."
"After four and a half years I am still impressed with this little tractor. Four Atlantic Canadian winters (front blade, rear blower) and not one problem. The only work required was two minor recalls that were repaired right in my driveway! 650 + hours and I still love it. I even use it weekly to take the garbage to the end of the driveway as an excuse to drive it!"
"I had some issues with the BX25 that should have been picked up during the pre-delivery check, but I had to have a service call to my summer place where it is stored to have them fixed. The tractor would not start, the tie-rod dust caps were rotting off, and one of the hydraulic lines to the bucket was leaking. I had these issues corrected and so far it has worked well. The unit is very unstable due to its width, and a wheel spacer kit should be offered as a safety feature. The backhoe works well, but due to the light weight of the unit over all, it does have a hard time in rocky soil. The fuel economy is fantastic. The bucket lift capacity is fine at 750 pounds and the overall running hydraulic pressure can be easily shimmed to increase the overall performance. The industrial tires that come with it are okay, but the front rims are prone to leakage and both have to be re-inflated every time I use the machine. "
"I just purchased this tractor two weeks ago. I love the backhoe. I put twenty hours on it and it has performed well. I also have a 1988 Kubota 7200, which I have had for the past 17 years. These are perfect for my 10 acre parcel. "
"I have had nothing but issues with this tractor since I have bought it. The tractors stops, won't restart, and the hydraulics are anemic. Kubota corporate could care less. Don't buy one you'll regret it. I will never buy Kubota anything again."
"I have had this tractor for two Eastern Canada winters with two sloped driveways each 300' long. keeping them clear is a treat. The loader/backhoe have made yard work fun as well."
"It is truly amazing what this little tractor will do. Best purchase I have ever made."
"I purchased this machine as I kept borrowing small heavy equipment from my boss to do a major property and home restoration project on my home. Needless to say, after two years of much excavation and 3 more to go, I could tell he was getting frustrated with the constant taking of his skid steers and mini excavators. So I purchased this machine to dig another few hundred feet of footings and move at least a few hundred tons of material along the way. I can also use the machine for snow removal on my double wide hundred foot driveway. So far I did much backfill work and moved about 20 tons of 3/4 clean stone and about 3 yards of sand. Did some grading work as well. Also load debris into the bucket and dump it into the side of a rented HD truck. It goes over the sides well, but doesn't reach the middle. Machine has been reliable, I just have to get use to the extra time it takes since it's not as agile as a dedicated loader or mini excavator. I just have to be patient since I'm used to using a CAT 305 excavator with a 16" bucket or a 277 skid steer. Anyone who knows can see my point. I love this little machine and I'm proud to own it. I did add a bolt on cutting edge. I'm also going to add some work lights on the ROPS when I get a chance. I also purchased the optional toolbox but didn't get a chance to put it on yet. The 4WD works great. I wish it came standard with the additional work lights. Iv'e done much with this machine already and it saves me much time from having to trailer equipment to my house. I used the optional thumb to carry some large heavy stones and large logs. I also have the 3 pt hitch and rake which I probably won't use until this summer. I did have an issue with the backhoe controls. I'm used to ISO controls and just couldn't deal with the way Kubota had it set up. I just changed a few hoses around on the main control valve to make it work the way I wanted. Anyway, I have much use for the unit (Even though a larger rental may be necessary when I start loading big dump trucks next year for earth removal). I plan on keeping this unit forever. Stays outside under a tarp for now, but will garage it next year once I build one. After shopping around, this was the best value for the money. I'm happy with the purchase! "
"I purchased this machine due to the fact that I'm always borrowing equipment from my company on a regular basis and it seems to be frustrating my boss. I still have 300 feet of footings to dig not to mention the tons of back fill and material moving for some home addition work over the next two years. Plus I have a 100 ft double wide driveway that I been using a snow blower on. I figure I can use this machine to clear the snow as well. So far I put 10 hours on the unit back filling and grading. It moves the dirt and stone good, but it takes a bit getting use to since it only has one pump. Be patient and you can make it work. It's also not as agile as a dedicated mini excavator or skid steer, I must be patient with that also. Still, I have my own machine now! One thing that had me a bit crazy was the controls. I'm a great operator using ISO controls. But this thing was set using the left backhoe control for the boom and the right one for the stick. I just couldn't get use to it, so I change the hoses around on the control valve to work in my favor. I also added a bolt on cutting edge since I will be scraping asphalt with the snow removal and I also have much rock in the soil around my property. I purchased a set of work lights and the optional tool box, just didn't get a chance to put them on yet. Still, I'm happy with my new toy. Looking forward to years of fun work with this thing!"
