"I bought this G1900S (4-wheel steer model) with 54-inch deck new in 1992 when I bought a 3-acre house. It mows great and the 4-wheel steering is wonderful around trees. I'll gear the review towards people looking to buy a used one now. This thing is built like a tank. We used it to clear about 1 acre that was overgrown with thick bushes. I seriously abused the tractor and it took the punishment without complaint. I nicknamed it "Agent Orange - Military strength defoliant." It has a nice big 5 gallon tank for the diesel fuel. The hydrostatic drive is simple with one foot pedal and the hydrolic lift on the deck makes raising and lowering it easy. Maintenance is pretty simple, although you need a funnel to drain the oil unless you remove the mower. Grease it, change the oil and you're good to go. The 4-wheel steering makes this almost as easy to mow as a zero-turn. I now have a 4-acre property that takes about 2 hrs to mow. If I trimmed the trees it would probably take 15-20 minutes less. The mower is FAST and chews through grass like nothing. One complaint about the 54-inch mower is that the rear wheels don't pivot, so when going around trees with 4 wheel steer, they drag and leave rings after a few mowings. Also, the front of the mower is held up via a nearly-horizontal linkage. After bashing the mower a few times, that loosened up so the front of the mower now rides on the anti-scalping wheels while mowing. I go through a set of those anti-scalping wheels every couple of years. If you're looking at one of these, get the 60-inch deck if possible. "

"I purchased this Kubota G1900 used from Maryland and had it shipped up to Connecticut. Since then I've cut the grass a half dozen times until the grass season has ended. It has the 60" sized deck. Cuts well. I am pleased with how the diesel starts right up and runs well. The hydro-static foot pedal drive is very easy to get used to. No major complaints yet. Fuel consumption is quite good, but as with all mowers one must run the machine at full throttle while cutting grass. Build quality seems quite good especially the heft of the deck itself."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Cuts well, fuel consumption, build quality, diesel engine. Cons: Traction on some hilly sections, the wheels spin. Must gain momentum to reach the the top. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA CT I also considered buying:

"This has been a great purchase, I have the tractor and the 60" deck w/the bagger attachment. It has been a solid tractor and is now coming into needing some TLC for the mower deck such as bearings in all three spindles and a belt. It has been a solid built tractor. It did have several attachments available back then when purchased. It was a little behind in the times as far as some features compared to John Deere in 1994, but in all a great machine."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: It's still going strong today. Cons: Posi-track axle feature. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying: Kubota B2630, John Deere X748

"Had three of these machines for quite a while, all bought second hand. Used to cut rough ground on forest tracks, also very long grass on holiday home site. The machines have all wheel steer giving close work and quick turns they produce an excellent finish though not good at collecting long grass which is best left to dry. Would recommend to anyone if you can find a good example. I am sure I will still be using in twenty years time. Good little diesel engine runs well on agri derv."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Engine is bomb proof as long as it as oil and water with anti freeze. Cons: Expensive parts, but easy to repair, safety features a pain in the rear. Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: UK OT I also considered buying:
