B6100 Kubota
B6100
Model Year: 1986

I've had this little tractor for several years now, I use it mostly for mowing and gardening with the rear tiller, but I have plows, disks, blades, etc that are used occasionally. The tractor I had before was much bigger (MF35) but the B6100 does everything the larger tractor could do, it just takes a little longer to get it done, plus I have the benefit of 4WD, nowhere near as much soil compaction and it does it all on so little diesel fuel

Pros: Pulling capability, fuel usage, dependability
Cons: No belly ba

Bought the tractor from a business acquaintance after looking for a project and an upgrade to MFWD. Spent a lot of blood sweat and tears ($) to build it back and fit it with a loader and subframe. Just completing those phases spring 2010. The 4x4 adds a lot of versatility over the old tractor in 2wd. Like the size over my tractors of the past on the farm since in town only have a couple acres.

Pros: size, quality and dependability
Cons: had to add hydro steering

1983 Kubota B6100E
Model Year: 1983

Purchased new as something I always wanted. We have only a small residential lot with a very small garden. This tractor is used mainly as a “horse” to pull a trailer around the yard during leaf raking season and also to plow the garden once or twice during the year. It did not come with an hour meter so actual hours are unknown but must be very little for 26 years of use. It has always been stored in a covered shed and has never been out in the rain and, to me, looks almost like new. The PTO has never been used other than to exercise it occasionally by engaging it without any load. Nothing has ever been hooked up to the hydraulic system. Maintenance so far has been limited to replacing batteries, oil, filters, fuel caps, seat cover, and tightening the fan belt. It has been the most reliable piece of equipment I have ever owned and has never failed to start easily. Of course, it has led a pampered life and not been used as hard as it was made to be used but, never the less, it is a very well made machine that would have stood up to lots of difficult service – and probably still can. For years my only implements were a 5’ Woods rear blade and a Brinley plow that was used on an earlier Wheel Horse. Also, back then I filled the tires with a 50% anti-freeze mixture and added 100 lbs of bar bell weights to the front frame. Last year, I added a rear scoop and last week I added a used 48” Bush Hog box scraper. About 2 months ago I installed a Kubota ROP and a diesel model Tiny Tach which shows RPM and hours. That now reads 9 hours. The engine no -load max. rpm is 2950. The tractor’s accessories that I added are a rear light mounted on the right rear fender and a dash-mounted brake latch (to avoid bending over to latch the brakes).

Pros: Extremely reliable
Cons: Must bend over when seated to reach brake latch.

It is a great little tractor now that I have used it a while. I purchased it with the need to fit it through a garden gate at home and trailer it to our property to mow and do trail maintenance. It was unfazed mowing some thick grass and small.

Pros: Reliability, bang for the buck, & mfg support.
Cons: Tiny cockpit; limited Cat 1 3pt.

My new B6100DT with Allied loader
Model Year: 1984

I just picked this tractor up a few days ago so I can't really comment on reliability. I wanted one tractor that could do all the chores..occasional loader work, mowing, snowblowing and grading the long driveway. I'm impressed by the traction and power of this little tractor, I've driven thru 10" of mud and water without spinning a tire. the controls on this tractor are very positive and give an impression of quality and precision. I've gone through most of the preventative maintenance schedule so I've gotten a feel of how the tractor is put together and am impressed so far. It's incredible what it can accomplish for a mere 14hp. Definitely a cool toy.

Pros: Capable for the size.
Cons: Can't have a loader and belly mower on at the same time.

B6100 with FEL. Old, But Still Going.
Model Year: 1979

The tractor is 20 years old, but still works nicely. I have replaced fluids and filters. This was needed. 8 hydraulic hoses were swapped and one cylinder fixed. I had to put a tube in the tubeless tire. Nothing more. Motor works great, starts easy. The FEL is stong after fixing. To be done is new electric wiring. I am really impressed by the strength of the engine/drive line.

Pros: Size and power. It is really strong for it's size.
Cons: Tricky to turn in congested areas.

My New B6100
Model Year: 1973

After reviewing my needs (wants) for a long time I got my B6100 in Sept 2011. After some initial trials I really love this litlle tractor. One of the best thing is the FEL. I have used it quite a lot since I bought it and I have spent time swapping parts. Next project will be change the wiring.

Pros: The power & traction for such a small beast.
Cons: The difficulty to get spare parts.

B6100 Kubota
After All These Years
Model Year: 1980

I bought the B6100 in a deal for my house and land. It had just over 400 hours on it in 1992 and the previous owner had kept it outside uncovered. I cleaned it up, touched up the orange paint, and have been working it hard ever since: hogging felled timber, mowing pastures, grading, hauling citrus and firewood, disc and harrowing horse paddocks, pulling hay wagons, you name it. Just had a hydraulic pipe burst, but quick work with a welding torch and it's back in service. It's lost some compression over the years and I daydream about a new tractor now and then, but heck, this little workhorse is like one of the family.

Pros: Reliable to a fault; easy start, perfect for small acreage.
Cons: Difficult bolt placement to remove alternator and get at other parts for the DIYer.
