"I don't really know what to say other than this has been a wonderful beast for me to work. I had a 40hp machine for 5 years before I bought this one. The later version (10 years) and the extra 10 hp makes a huge diff in day to day usage. I have the full Grand Cab. My wife talked me into that. Yes, I was amazed too (lol). Full front end loader setup. Added the 4' fork setup. Did a mod to add a plow using the fork unit until this year. Just got as an advanced Christmas present from my wonderful son, a skid steer full 3/8" thick plate and I mounted my homemade hardware to this plate for the plow. I ran hydraulic lines from the back to the front to create my own 3rd function ability. Purchased a rear blade, love it. Purchased a 12,000 winch setup, ran duel #2 gauge power leads to the rear for the winch. Added a claw grabber to the fork setup for picking up stuff. Even a birdhouse off the ground without damage---way cool. Love this machine. 5 years now and 600 hours later I would not change a thing. My boss owns a JD. I am the only one he lets drive it to unload TT units. I am ever so glad I did not go that route!!!"

"Expanding our row crop operation called for hydraulics. After shopping Massey Furguson, New Holland, Deere and Kubota, I wanted the Deere based on weight and bucket lift capacity/breakout force. The Kubota salesman was very aggressive, and with 60 month 0%, I went orange. 2009 M5040 Hydraulic shuttle, FEL, cat II 3pt, 540/100 rear PTO, 2 rear remotes. I sold the tractor two weeks ago (made sense $-wise) and now I realize how much I used it! Friends of mine with smaller tractors talked of my needing a winch for the woods. With the rears loaded with Rim-Guard and the FEL on, I never met anything I couldn't just drag. No winch required! It really is designed as a 'farm' tractor, not a weekend toy. Hydraulic shuttle was great for my use. HST would have been better for loader work, but I prefer gears for ground engagement. If you are going to use this in the woods, you need to build a skid plate for the hydraulic filters. She will NOT move after you poke a 3" sapling through the filters. Trust me! And the yearly fluid changes are around $500! But She was a beast, and would probably pick up and/or drag around my next tractor. I think my only real complaint was the design on the loader joystick. Really crappy design which wore out quickly. Great tractor!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Power, traction, and breakout force are awesome! Cons: Not maneuverable enough in short row crops. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA NY I also considered buying: John Deere 3005, Kubota L3200

"I have put this tractor in everything (m5040 4x4), just this weekend mowed 40ac.of water weeds and everything else you could put in there (over 3ft weeds) with an 8FT land pride shredder HD ,and the tractor and shredder both never missed a lick. Thought tractor would bog down but was able to mow in 3rd low at 1900rpms. I would recommend this tractor and shredder combo to anyone.I have also pulled my fathers 14ft shredder in lighter stuff around a foot tall without any problems for a 50hp,the size and loader is very stout moved 2000lbs bales all day.We also have a 2010 Kubota 7040 cab/air 4x4, with over 700hrs now neither tractor has had any issues. I would recommend these tractors to anyone. If your around east Texas go with normangee tractor. Kenneth was my sales person - great guy!"
