BX23 Kubota
BX23
Model Year: 2004

Great little machine. Does far more than it appears that it would. The best, and one of the most expensive, investments that I have ever made. I have a mid mount mower as well. So it really is a do it all piece of equipment.

Pros: power, HST, loader, BH, mower,4x4, power steering and fuel economy
Cons: Brakes, especially the parking brake is awful.

BX23 Kubota
Wouldn't want to be without it
Model Year: 2003

Completely rearranged my little part of the world with this thing. Works great. The BH particularly I find invaluable. Fixed my sewer and my brother's saving $1000's. Built a patio, cut down a road, hauled wood, skidded logs, and a million other things. Only 2 problems I've had...blew a hydraulic line once and the HST destroyed itself just outside of warranty, and with very low hours and no catastrophic loss of fluid (so no excuse for this happening). Kubota paid half to have it fixed but it was still extremely expensive. I take very good care of this tractor and there was absolutely no reason for the HST to have quit. When my original dealer went out of business the next closest dealer was pretty crappy. That's where I had to have the HST replaced. They didn't even go to bat for me with Kubota, I had to do that myself! Gets about 3 hours to the gallon light duty and 2 hours to the gallon heavy duty. Some non sub-compact attachments won't work on this, even though the 3-point is cat 1. Couldn't make a non sub brush hog work--too unwielding. I'd only use a sub-cut tiller on this as it is sized perfectly for weight, horsepower, and tiller width. I know some people use a full size but I don't recommend it.

Pros: 4 wheel drive, BH, hydro static drive, fuel economy, fold down ROPS
Cons: Brake is almost non existant, headlights are blocked by FEL at night -- mounts some aux lights high up on ROPS, if you ever lose HST fluid it will be instantly destroyed before you can move it

BX23 Kubota
BX 23 experience
Model Year: 2004

This tractor was purchased to relieve the owner of an excessive amount of time operating a pick and shovel. This strategy is most successful. It has, however, proved to be so much more useful that I could not imagine being without it now. I have added a thumb to the backhoe and expanded the number of jobs I use it for considerably. Of course, I have run up against power and size limitations a few times, but that will happen with most machines eventually. Generally speaking the tractor is well designed for the small landscaping and excavating jobs I use it for. It can get into places you just could not go with a bigger machine.

Pros: Size, versatility, HST, 4wd
Cons: backhoe reach

Good for any homeowners varied needs. There is always a few little problems such as seat, air cleaner brackets, lights that will not be shut off! and on and on. Even with all the little issues that small machine can do lots of work.

Pros: good in tight work area- cheap to operate-with bh and fel almost impossible to get stuck
Cons: safety switches get out of adjustment and off goes the tracto

The Timex, Takes a licken and keeps on ticken
Model Year: 2004

Well I done everything from putting in a septic system to digging out over a hundred trees after a hurricane, and mowing my 5 ac lawn. Now remember unfortunately it is kept outside due to a lack of room. Other than normal maintenance in six years here are the trips to the dealer press a new bearing into the mower deck front axle seals and now a new battery.

Pros: built to last
Cons: a little under powered

Tractor is excellent for a small farm. Takes a little longer to get jobs done than with a bigger tractor however the economics are worth it. I normally get two full days work on a 5 gallon tank of diesel

Pros: easy to change implements including back hoe
Cons: so far none..

BX23 Kubota
Atobuk
Model Year: 2005

I bought a BX23 so I could have it paid for before I retired. I purchased a boat load of implements to use with my Kubota all with retirement in mind. I use my scraper to break up the hard soil before tilling. I spread sulfur and fertilizer to meet needs identified from a soil test lab. I dug 308 post holed with my post hole digger to erect a fence. I raked my land with a rake attachment to minimize rock infestation. I sprayed my orchard and added liquid fertilizer with tank. I spread grass seed with my spreader attachment and cut the yard with my 52 inch mower attachment. I use my front mount snow blower to remove heavy snow from my driveway and several neighbors. I have never had a problem with the tractor but I have worn out my tiller tines and will have to replace. It was a smart buy and have never looked back. The reason I share this with you is that my engineer neighbor thought me foolish to buy a tractor and told me he was going to make his own tractor that could do everything my Kubota could do and for a quarter of the price. He told me while laughing at me that he would name his machine Atobuk (Kubota spelled backwards). Thus far I don't believe my neighbor's home built contraptions have every made it through a season. He finally purchased a huge used loader and backhow that is so big he has a hard time working on landscape projects. He gets his big loader stuck in the snow every year. My BX23 was a great purchase of a great machine. I would do it again without a second thought. My biggest problem with my BX23 is that my wife wants to use it all the time. There are things I will share with my sweet patootie but not my orange eradicator. She is the other woman.

Pros: It requires little maintenance and will handle big jobs. It comes with a hefty loader and backhoe. Both work really well.
Cons: The BX23 isn't very heavy so one must be carefull about picking up heavy loads with the loader unless you have the backhoe on the rear.

BX23 Kubota
Working the Yars
Model Year: 0

I bought the tractor because the back yard was too much for my regular 13hp riding mower. It almost turned over several times due to the incline. So I bought the BX23 with FEL/BH/MMM. Even with a 5 foot MMM it takes 3-4 hours to cut the back yard. Also I am in the process of filling in a defunct in-ground pool. The 22hp tractor performs well initially and starts to wane after a few hours of use. It finally won't climb the slope in the back any more and I pack it in for that day.

Pros: Does lots of work.
Cons: Cannot work extended hours/I may be expecting too much for its size.

BX23 Kubota
The Best investment
Model Year: 2004

The Kubota Bx23 has been the best investment besides my property that I have ever made. Every time I finish a project I say the same thing, "I know it cost me a lot of money, but it was worth every penny. " I live right down the road from the dealer and the only reason why they didn't get a 5 star rating was once i bought it, I needed to get other attachments later and they didn't seem to care as much as before I made the purchase. I also think it is because I do my own work on it, but the machine itself is great. Growing up, my father had a 1965 10HP Wheel Horse and my nephew is still using it till this day. Back in the day we abused that tractor to the hilt. I do believe if my dad was alive he would love this Kubota more than I do. I wouldn't be able to keep him away from it. All in all it's just a great piece of equipment.

Pros: Quick connects on attachments.
Cons: None I have found yet.

Put 20 hours on the machine since purchase. For the size of the machine, it does the job well. What it has done so far would have taken weeks to do by hand. I am glad my wife told me to buy the orange machine.

Pros: Small, easy to manuver, & easy to use.
Cons: Seat could be more comfortable, could have bigger tires, & needs stock skid plates.
