"I bought a Kioti DK40 in 2006 and used it to bush hog 10 acres twice a year, to cut grass 15 times each summer, and to till 5 one-acre food plots annually. In 11 years it has 728 total hours. At 350 hours, it had to have the injection pump rebuilt for $1500. At 728 hours, the tractor engine cranked and ran to maximum RPM. The key would not shut it off. The dealer could not diagnose. Kioti National had no clue. We rebuilt injection pump again for $600 and replaced governor parts. The total parts and labor were $1150. I asked Kioti to assist in the loss.Their reply: out of warranty. The pump is a Borshe. The rack was bent on both ends and the electric solenoid was as well. The gears had teeth missing. The second pump fail was fixed by a different dealer. The original dealer "gave up" as a Kioti dealership. It was found by the second dealer that the governor was improperly installed and timing was off. Regardless, I am informing you that it is my intentions to report that Kioti does not stand behind their product. They would not correspond with me. They would not acknowledge my request for assistance with the deficiency of their product. I would not recommend a Kioti tractor unless you can fix it yourself. Then you will deal with long waits for parts. Good luck if you decide to buy a Kioti. You have been warned. "
"I use mine to maintain a hunting operation. The jobs range from mowing to harrowing and road repair. This little machine is capable of unbelievable things. I have pushed huge oak trees out of roads with it. Always be careful when using the hydraulics as they are strong enough to flip the tractor. Mine has no safety lock outs on the hydraulics. I would definitely purchase Kioti if I was in market for a tractor."
"Nice little 4X4 tractor. Does everything I have asked it to do. I do a lot of mowing/bush hogging and it meets those needs very well. The only short fall so far is the hydraulic lift is not as smooth as one would like. When lowering an piece of equipment it is jerky and can just drop it to the ground if you are not careful."
"This machine has been up to its headlights in mud. I just love the Kioti. The only thing I have had trouble with is the safety switch on the forward/reverse lever, the wire's gets broken when going through the bush. I guess I shouldn't do that? "
"My First Post: After much research it came down to Kioti or Kubota, but the AUD5000 difference in price clinched the deal (incl FEL with 5 way bucket) all up AU$30,500 = US$31,700 at today's FX rate. The best money for value 40/45HP tractor on the market in Australia. We live in pretty rugged country on the east coast about 400km (240miles)NNW of Sydney. The tractor has done lots of work slashing & clearing, very reliable & simple/easy to operate with excellent hydraulics. Only minor breakages except for the radiator! Why to they fit plastic (Nylon66?) radiators with aluminum cores! Only problem is with local dealer & national distributor (PFG) as parts "cost a bomb" & its a tied house---no competition, just like our automotive industry. Even with strong AU prices never go down. The simplest parts seem to start at AU $100! So its a great machine, reliable & simple operation but service & parts? Thanks for your time."
"Great little work horse and great on fuel."
"I bought the tractor with a backhoe and FEL. I dig with it, plow earth, drag a disc and operate a 6ft rototiller. It came equipped with a creeper gear and I think that is what I like most about it. For rototilling large acreage it works very well. I mainly plant wildlife food plots, but also use it for all kinds of chores and maintenance. I also use a 6 ft bush hog with it and it has no problems going through big heavy brush. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. I have had problems for whatever reason with the hydraulics associated with the backhoe. other than that it works well for me."
"It's all good."
"Really good tractor for the money, very tough and reliable. Easy to want to tackle jobs out of its league. Great on the farm for tilling, loader work and brush hogging and all medium tasks you can come up with."
"I got this tractor in September 2009. I have used it mainly for road maintaince and Snow removal so far and it's been great. The Hydrostatic transmission makes moving snow very easy! I prefer to use the tractor over my ATV for snow removal mainly because of the HST. I have about 40 hours on the machine now and it's be 100% problem free. It starts well in the cold (I installed a hose heater and plug it in for about 10 - 20 mins before I start it if it's below 30 degrees F). The Front end loader is fantastic. Lifting capasity for this maching is wonderful. I've used it to lift the back of my F250 and put it on jackstands for tire rotation. My only complaint is the position of the rear remote lever. I use the rear remote for a tilt cylinder on the 3point hitch, and you have to bend way over to reach it.. makes it hard to see the rear blade when your head is way low. The rear remote does have a good detent, which I think is used for folks who run a backhoe off of the rear remote. Overall I would highly recommend this machine."
