Great Tractor But Hard To Find Parts And Accessories
rating
4.2

Model year: 2014 Date Purchased: 2014-04-22 Number of Hours: 285

"I am glad I bought this tractor. I have a hard time finding accessories for it, though. And there are few dealers in my area that are within a short distance. I would like to find a quick attach plate for the loader, but I can't seem to find one. I haven't been able to find anything for it, to be honest. Filters are expensive and hard to come by, although I have found a cross reference number that allows me to use a Fram filter. The only problem that I've had was the main hydraulic line blew at 50 hours. It was easier for me to take it off myself and have it repaired by my dealer. The blown line looked like a bad crimp more then a bad line, but I took the opportunity at that time to change all the filters and drain and fill the hydraulic system with synthetic tractor oil made for a hydrostatic system. Everything else is as it should be. "

CS2510 Versus Boomer 25

Model year: 2018 Date Purchased: 2018-07-15 Number of Hours: 25

"I traded my 2013 Boomer 25 for a new Kioti CS25. The Kioti after 25 hours has performed flawlessly, but these are totally different tractors. I'm using the Kioti to mow between trees and shrubs where its size makes it much more maneuverable to move piles of dirt and topsoil from a dumpsite to yard area, level with box blade, and to mow or disc weeds in rough ground between trees. First impressions: The Kioti has a much, much, smoother, quieter and easier starting engine than the Boomer (the Boomer starter always seemed to struggle to turn the engine fast enough even with new battery, especially when hot). The Kioti engine appears to have more torque, especially at low RPM. However. some 2+ acres of wooded area that I try to work has some boggy areas and small ditches that the Boomer handled in stride (if not maneuverability) and never once got itself stuck. The almost toy size front tires of the Kioti don't handle mud or even smaller ditches without having to use the front-end loader to push myself back out. The Boomer hydraulics allowed easy use of both raise/lower front-end lower boom and rotate bucket simultaneously, which is not possible with Kioti. You go up or down then rotate the bucket, and it slows down progress noticeably. Either the capacity of the front-end loader on the Boomer is underrated or the Kioti is overrated. There isn't much comparison to the hydraulics. There is not as much breakout or lift in the Kioti, but if you don't need to use it to uproot small shrubs and roots the Kioti works fine (but slow). I like the instrument panel on the Kioti because I can lay my cellphone on it and see calls coming in. Also, there is noticeably more ground clearance under the belly mower on the Kioti. I can actually leave it on and use the front-end loader for some dirt moving without a problem, which is not so with the Boomer. It is a personal preference, but I find the single treadle forward/reverse pedal(s) quicker and less tiring than having to lift my leg up and move from one pedal to the other (Kioti). The front-end loader joystick on the Boomer is much more conveniently located as I could rest an arm and operate the Boomer but have to hold an arm out to operate the Kioti. The chrome(?) plated lever to operate the front-end loader on the Kioti is already rusting, as are the cap screws attaching it to the valve. Over all the finish throughout the Boomer is superior to Kioti (there dimples all over Kioti hood, for instance). The access to the service points, especially the battery and filters on Kioti are much more convenient. The Boomer is a "cluster." The entire Kioti tractor is so, so much smoother through the frame, seat, and steering wheel. My Boomer vibrated so badly in normal operation I called the dealer to investigate when it was new: "Its the nature of the beast." Later, I had cap screws holding the front-end loader boom attachments to the tractor frame fail in what appears to be fatigue from vibration. I finally kept spares as this was an ongoing problem. The lighting switch and emergency flasher switch on the Kioti are poorly located, as they seem to be constantly activated by my left knee. I love the fold down rollover protective structures (ROP) of the Kioti which the Boomer didn't have. My overall biggest complaints about the Kioti are the ridiculously small diameter front tires and rather puny hydraulics (already complained to dealer). My compliments for the smooth, quiet, powerful engine, ease of servicing, maneuverability, and excellent visibility all around. I considered Kubota and John Deere comparable horsepower. John Deere have a fine high quality machine but it is just too big as was the Boomer, and the Kubota (seems like their excellent reputation comes at a price that I didn't see the value in). For the value I am very happy with the Kioti, and I'm okay with the slow hydraulics for all of the other pluses it has. If you have serious work in rougher areas it wouldn't be my first choice, but for lighter, but serious work in the average homeowner or light commercial work, the Kioti, for me, is the best value to this point. I'm quite happy with my choice. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Quick starting, quiet, and unusually smooth running engine with a lot of torque, good ground clearance even with belly mower; easily and conveniently serviced; auto-bleeding fuel system, large fuel tank capacity, differential lock works flawlessly. excellent visibility all around, excellent steering and maneuverability Cons: Hydraulics (relative to competition ) slow, less breakout of lift capacity; front-end loader control valve has only one function at a time; front tires too small to work in soft and rough ground. location of lighting switches, relatively poor finish in areas. very limited accessory line. placement of front-end loader control lever could be better, ditto on left fender controls (too far back have to twist to reach) Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA SC I also considered buying: John Deere 2520, Kubota B2530

"The CS2210 is the same as a 2410. Injector size seems to be the only difference. The loader and box blade performed as expected for a small tractor. It just took a little longer. Grading the driveway went well after getting the box blade adjusted. No issues. Performed well. Adding a piranha type blade to the bucket made a world of difference in moving packed soil. I leveled a small mound to assist in drainage around my septic system, a 30 by 40-foot area moving about a foot deep of established lawn. The 4-wheel drive came in handy. Got to love the bucket for moving material. It beats a wheel barrel. "

Warranty? You're Going To Need It

"I bought my tractor May 1, 2015. It was delivered to me with 2 dry rotted rear tires. I called the dealer and they said, "send pictures, we'll contact Kioti and see if they'll replace them." Really? You should have pulled the tires off while it was sitting on your lot and then fought with Kioti. 10 days later, two new tires arrived at my front door. I called the dealer, and said "The tires arrived, I can't put them on, what it I tear the bead?" It was like pulling teeth to have them come get the tractor, mount the tires, and return it to me two days later. By the way, the dealer is only 8 miles away. Issue number 2: There has been a constant struggle to attach and detach the loader bucket. The kick stand retainer pins are a joke! I had spent 30 minutes trying to attach one of the hydraulic lines, come to find out the line was holding pressure and I had to smash it on the side of a bucket to get it to release the fluid so it would snap back into the coupling. Issue number 3: the diesel fuel return line under the hood. The fine piece of engineering wonderment has a plastic connector held in place by two spring clamps - no big deal, they work fine in many applications, but not here. The plastic connector is not straight with barbs on the ends pushing into fuel lines, nope, one end is straight and the other bigger end is cone shaped and pushed into a 3/8s inch line with tiny ridges around it. So, it works its way out of the line and sprays diesel fuel all over the engine compartment. Issue number 4: hydraulic line near right rear tire. This line is zip tied to a piece of tubular frame. By the time all the hydraulic fluid had sprayed out, killing 130 feet of my lawn, the tractor quit moving. We shut it down and noticed that the hydraulic line had pulled out of its crimped fitting. It was not hooked on anything, just separated. I called the dealer and asked about the warranty. This is clearly a defective part, manufacturer's defect. I ask, is this covered by the warranty? Dealer: I don't know, (name removed) is out of town, but I can call him. I receive a text message from the dealer, "(Name removed) said if you can get the line off he can make you a new one" What? Is this how Kioti handles warranty issues? I contact Kioti via "comments and concerns" on their web page on 8/12/16. On 8/16/16, I sent it again because no one contacted me. On 8/18/16, (name removed) responded with a generic customer service touchy feely "I'm so sorry to hear of the frustration you are experiencing with your equipment. I agree that this could be a daunting task to remove hydraulic lines if you are not familiar with the technical aspects of your equipment." What? She should have said, by no means should you be doing any work on a 1 year old tractor still under warranty. She went on to say, "I recommend that you speak with the manager at the dealership and let them know this is unacceptable, they should be able to help you reach a satisfactory resolution." She must have missed the part about them having me pull the line off myself! She ended with, "feel free to let me know if I can be of further assistance." I emailed right back with,"Is this under warranty? If I remove the line is my warranty void? Who covers the cost of replacing the hydraulic fluid that killed my lawn?" That was 6 days ago. I've just heard crickets, no response. I had to rent a U-haul trailer and ratchet strap it up into the trailer. Because they ultimately said, "If you can get it here, we'll fix it." It is now fixed, I asked how much would they charge to deliver it to me, and I quote, "We don't do that, but you can call a towing company." I guess the price would be $15,000 since they delivered it when I bought it! What should have happened: Kioti calls the dealership, they go get the tractor, make it new, and return it to the customer, and bill Kioti for all charges. "

Model year: 2014 Date Purchased: 2014-08-01 Number of Hours: 72

"I bought this tractor as a dealer demo with 22 hours (mistake #1), as there were no new ones available within a 375-mile radius. I had to drive 190 miles one-way to get this one. I was told by several dealers that they don't keep any during the early winter as no one will purchase one then. The tractor looks nice and resembles the Kubota. I was told the dealer only used it to cut grass and for nothing else. Well here are the problems I have had in 14 months, and I only put 50 hours on it in that time. The front tire wouldn't hold air and it took an act of congress to get a new one. Kioti Corporate did not want to deal with it and said it was a dealer issue. Needless to say, two months later I finally got one. Then I had a loader hose snap in half and to this day I have not used the loader except to raise and lower when moving the tractor. Corporate told me to take the tractor to my dealer to have fixed since it was a warranty issue. That would mean 2 trips towing this tractor for a total of 720 miles. My dealer was nice enough to get me the hose. I got it 3 weeks later from corporate and this was during planting season, so my garden was set back 3 weeks. The loader rating says 700 pounds. That is not happening. I tried to lift a 4-foot pull behind disc out of my pickup and the back end came off the ground. I had to have a neighbor come take it out. Also, I use a 4-foot light duty bush hog (just for pasture grass - no brush) and it will actually push the tractor around so you must be careful with that. The tractor is hard to take from neutral to either high or low gear. You have to apply force to position it. The paint is not very heavy duty. Like I said, the loader is never used and most of the paint on the loader arms is all gone and rust has started already. If I had it to do it over, I would have paid the extra money and bought a Kubota. I now have another hose on the loader that has ruptured with only 72 hours, and the loader is out of warranty and I have to purchase that so no telling what else is going to break. The book states that when you remove the belly mower, to apply the power take-off cover to keep dirt out when plowing. The problem with that is...there are no covers. The dealer has never seen one and corporate has avoided 2 emails requesting one. So after plowing I have to crawl under and hand clean the central power take-off so I can reattach the mower power take-off. There always seems to be something. It is fuel efficient when mowing, but when you attach the bush hog or plow the fuel efficiency goes out the window. You will be empty in just a short time. "

"This is very poorly made. The loader joystick fell apart twice. The 3-point hitch will not hold up my tiller. The dealer has put in new lift cylinder and control valve. There have been leaking hydraulic hoses. It just had the fuel pump replaced. Water collects in the dash. I have owned it for one and a half years. "

"I purchased Kioti CS2410 after shopping the most popular brands including a Massey Ferguson GC1720 TLB, Mahindra eMax25 & Kubota BX25D. I looked at others too, but the above made the short list and got test driven & compared. These four machines are all VERY similar, with each having something a little better than the others and each having something not quite as good too. In the end I really couldn't find much fault with the CS2410. The reputation/presentation by the dealer, and a great price, sealed the deal. My CS2410 is equipped with a front end loader, back hoe, 60" mid-mount mower, snow blower, all riding on R4 tires. I also had the dealer install a guard for the hydro filter as well as a brush guard. Since it's June, I can give an opinion on everything but the snow blower. The FEL has nice fast movement just off idle. Given its size, it has plenty of lift capacity. The float position---not available on all FEL's in this class---is feature no one should be without. Removal is as simple as others in the class; remove two pins, lift the rear mount over the pivot pin, back away and disconnect the four lines. The other machines in the class include an attached stand that pivots into position, but Kioti chose to use a detachable stand. It's not a big deal, but not the standard. The backhoe is well thought-out and with a 12" bucket (8 & 16 are available too) it's very capable. The operators seat swivels and elevates into position when off the machine, providing a roomy working area with good visibility. Once again, the controls are nice and snappy without having to rev the machine at high rpm. The BH is easily removed (and reattached) by removing two pins, rocking the unit off it's mounts (using the stabilizers and bucket) and removing three lines. For my purposes, this is a must-have attachment. The mid-mount mower is a good match to the CS2410. At 60" is provides a good cut. My land isn't the smoothest, especially in the fields, and the deck provides a nice even cut. It's not necessary to remove the MMM to operate/use the FEL or BH. The travel/lock position stows the MMM nice and high---high enough that I haven't need to remove it yet. Worth mentioning is the tight turn radius: it's the same as the GT I had before this machine. And the mower was designed so it doesn't fill up with cut grass, making clean-up and maintenance a bit easier. All isn't perfect. The seat is borderline uncomfortable. It's hard with minimal padding. I'll be looking for an aftermarket unit. The steering wheel is mounted such that with the seat all the way back it's a far reach to the wheel and it obscures the top of the instrument panel. At 6'1" I don't need to put the seat all the way back, but if I'd had to I wouldn't be happy. But this is nit-picking a great machine. The good news is that the operators station is very wide with a lot of seat travel to get the seat in a comfortable position. So far I'm quite pleased with the machine. I have R4 tires, which are kind to the lawn and hook-up okay on loose soil. The differential lock and 4WD make up for any loss of traction. I look forward to mounting the snow blower and putting it to work all winter long."

Model year: 2013 Date Purchased: 2013-05-01 Number of Hours: 140

"Build Quality: Tractor seems to be good overall but a couple of issues have caused real pain. The tractor is very low to the ground, while plowing a 4 acre plot the front right drain plug in the axle turned out from clinking rocks, dirt etc, and I lost almost all my axle oil before I saw the oil everywhere in the dirt. The transmission oil cooling fan, plastic, is easy to get sticks in it and mine had all the blades instantly sheared off of it. The hydro oil filter is easily damaged even with mine having a guard on it, I had a rock turn mine out and leaked about a 1/3rd of my oil out. The mowing deck is really nice but the grease fittings on the running wheels are constantly getting hit and coming out or getting knocked off. I have cruise control on this tractor and it wore out in 1 month, very disheartening. The radiator screen/filter is constantly needing cleaning, every time I mow, or you will overheat the engine. I used to be a Simplicity Legacy guy and that tractor was low but the crucial items that you could damage were tucked away in safer places, I never had damage to any of the items I've had to worry about with this Kioti except the mower deck wheel clip retainers which seem to be common for most of us. Features: I really like all the things I can do with this tractor, I have a FEL, rototiller, rake, log splitter, middle buster, brush hog, planter, post hole digger, and this tractor handles these implements very well. The tractor seems very easy to add on to for future items you want. When the cruise control works it is top shelf. I also like the clear and easy to read gauges. Performance: The engine on this unit seems to be very strong and starts easily. I just wish I could get all the power to the hydro-static when I need it. The hydraulic pump is only 6.5GPM and does not run a log splitter with any authority and I have a SplitFire which is one of the easiest to run for a tractor. Value: I gave this item 4 stars because I can only compare it to a Simplicity Legacy. The Kioti will do way more than a Legacy. Will it do more than a Kubota or a John Deere for the money? I don't know. Reliability: Just not good on many fronts. Cruise control fail, Injection pump fail, all the little items I mentioned under build quality. I had this tractor in the shop for 4 weeks out of the first 5 months I owned it. My dealer was very good about getting to the bottom of things BUT Kioti is inept at stocking parts. It seems everything is always on back order."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Power, features, my dealer, I believe the price was good. Cons: Reliability, exposed filters fans because it's low, build quality/weak hydraulic pump, getting the great engine power to the wheels when pulling.
