"I replaced a six year old John Deere for carburetor issues on its Kohler engine. This one has a 19.5 horsepower Briggs engine and has surged madly when started since new. It back-fires when turned off. I replaced the carburetor and got one good run and now it started surging again. I am unable to adjust the fuel valve to make it smooth out. It just stalls. I added Sea Foam to the fuel without benefit. I put the old carburetor back on and now it blows white smoke like a junker... It is too far to get it to a John Deere mechanic. I might need a small engine mechanic to come out and evaluate this two year old machine. I wish they made them to last."
"Have a yard that's a slope, with a hill, and this thing runs up and down it with my 250lbs of heft atop, no problem except the occasional "wet grass burnout". I assume it's just the tires, or normal for a rider in general to slip on wet grass, it's slick afterall. Basic maintenance, oil, lube, clean it, and the thing has been super reliable. Initial battery lasted into the 3rd year, and died after a couple starts oddly enough, but it has yet to have any problem. I bypassed the RIO after warranty, because I feel it's far less safe to be focused on the dash going backwards, my truck doesn't need me holding in a button, my mower shouldn't either. Overall, it seems a little cheap (the hood bouncing has always bugged me) on some things, but it's the basement of the group, I didn't buy a Porsche, I bought a used Ford Focus lol and for my needs, it's handling everything just fine!"
"My D110 has the B&G 19.5 hp engine. After exceeding the 2 year warranty by 4 month and with only 61 hours on it, the engine began burning excess amounts of oil. I took it to my local John Deere service center who found the head gasket was blown. I was charged $261 to replace it. Otherwise I am happy with the mower."
"It is the loudest mower I have ever owned. Sounds like it will blow up any minute. I hope it does so I can look for a better machine. A look of plastic and fiber that will probably break in the near future. Appears to have been made in China. Very light suspension that does not seem suitable for a mower of this size. Would not and do not recommend this mower. Backfires when turning off, even at idle....."
"I absolutely love the tractor. The only improvement I would suggest would be to include the mulching kit with the tractor. I was told by the dealer that the tractor had mulchimg blades installed, but as soon as I mowed one time, I discovered this was not the case. I then had to purchase the mulching blades and the shute blocking attachment. A friend of mine purchased the same tractor several years ago, and these items were included. The dealer was less than satisfactory. They said I would be getting a new tractor out of the box, and when it was delivered - they sent one that had been sitting outdoors and it was dirty, and scratched. I refused that unit, and they sent a new one. Between that and the mis-information about the mulching capabilities, I was less than happy with them. As far as the tractor goes, I am very happy with it!"
"I have1 which.10 is green grass and the rest I have to mow for fire prevention. I used to mow with a manual weed eater. This took me about 8 hours. Now with the D110 it takes about an 1 hour and it is fun. I have fight the wife to see who gets to do the mowing."
"I have 13 hours on this tractor mowing 1-1/2 acres. I use a lawn sweeper and have a 8 yard dump trailer. My land is at 4500' in the Tehachapi mountains (California) and is very hilly. This tractor does every thing that I need. I changed the oil and filter. With the drain pipe for the oil it was very easy to do. "
"Been using tractor all summer meets all expectations."
