"I don't know how old the tractor is. I bought it used from my dad 10 years ago. Dad bought used several years before that. I do normal maintenance on it. The only problems I have is the fuel tank rubs on a bracket that causes it to leak. I have repair it twice and it is leaking again now. Poor design. I recently rented a Kubota 40hp tractor with a front end loader and box blade. My 2040 does not have a loader. I find that my 30 yr. old tractor has more power than the brand new Kubota did and has a better gear range. I use the following implements: 7' HD Dual edge grader, 7' Grader Blade, 6' box scrapper, 6' brush shredder, 7' long HD home made boom pole, 6' carrier to haul drums, sacks ect, 11KW PTO driven generator."

"This is a really nice tractor. Power steering and brakes, 3 cylinder diesel, 40hp at PTO. I use this tractor for lots of different things: - post hole digger - moving gravel, manure, etc with bucket - brushogging - fertilizing - baler, rake, sickle bar - box blade, non-box blade - tiller Only three complaints for my use: 1) Wish it were 4WD. I think they may have made some of these with 4WD. 2) The bucket is not easy to remove like the newer tractors. It would be super-nice to be able to remove the bucket for mowing and such... the extra weight of the bucket together with the fact that it's 2WD can make it harder to get around / more likely you'll make ruts with the front wheels 3) Wish I had more hydraulics. I just have one pair, which go to the front loader. I've got equipment that needs one pair, and I'd love to borrow my neighbor's "real" farm equipment but much of it needs two pairs of hydraulics. Overall it's a really great tractor, really tough and I'm pleased with it."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: It's green. Cons: Wish my specific version had 4WD, more hydraulics, removable loader. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA KS I also considered buying:

"Overall a workhorse and a good tractor. Hard entering and exiting drivers seat. Some controls eg., PTO is hard to reach. If it's green it is expensive including spare and replacement parts."

Pros: Dependable. Cons: Expensive. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA ME I also considered buying:
