Model year: 2003 Date Purchased: 2004-03-13 Number of Hours: 305

"This is the best garden tractor I have ever owned, and after reading the other reviews on here I have figured out that the people who wrote them don't have a G100. One of them says they have a 2006 model G100---they were only made in 2003. And the other says his G100 has no drain plug for the transmission (they only used the K66 trans in the G100, and all K66 transmissions have drain plugs)."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Runs great, fast and plenty of power on hills. Cons: Cuts a little un-even on a tight turn. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA KY I also considered buying:

Smoking Engine Only 136 Hours

"The engine started smoking this year. I have only 136 hours on it. The mowing deck is rusting around the blade spindles, I imagine they'll come flying out of there soon. There is no drain plug on the transmission. I guess JD wants it to fail so you'll buy another one instead of just putting a simple drain plug in there. J20D hydraulic oil in the transmission. The dealer tells me that his manual indicates it can be replaced with any 5W50 synthetic oil, but the dealer charges about $6.50 for a quart of J20D and the synthetic runs about $10, if you can find ANY 50 weight oil, so you are best to use the JD. I suction out as much as I can, about 15 ounces, out of the capacity of about 70 ounces, and should change about 90% of it in ten changes. This should be better than waiting for it to fail. Have had no issues with belts."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Belts and tires last. Cons: Rust in deck, seat cracked, leaves streaks in grass between blade swipes, steering wheel broke from a bad molding, grass collects in deck and is a pain to clean, engine is smoking. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA PA I also considered buying:

"I purchased a John Deere garden tractor, 25hp with 54 mover deck, rotor tiller, snow thrower, chains weight every thing a home owner would want. After a year and a half the motor started to smokey. Engine was replaced by John Deere after a all the questions. When I went to purchased the snow blower I was told by the salesperson from Home Depot the snow blower was a 2 stage. It turn out he did not know what he was talking about. You can buy JDeere tractor from the JDeere store for the same price and get service and not get the run around from Home Depot 3yrs another engine and transmission 1900 hundred, one thing after another."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: 54 inch mover. Cons: Money pit. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NH I also considered buying:
