"I have always been happy with the tractor, but have always had starting issues, aside from that it has been, and still is a good tractor."
"When I purchased this tractor it was a but of a mess needing tires and a steering box and a paint job. The gas motor is very solid using no oil all these years and getting about as good fuel consumption as can be expected from a gas engine. I installed an international 1500 loader about ten years ago along with power steering. It is a solid tractor that is good with a loader (with a heavy counter-weight). I have spent too many hours mowing with it as well. The gear box with its square cut gears is quite solid but bulky by today's standards, shifting gears usually requires stopping. It's found in many models from the period with eight speeds that give plenty of range. Like any old machine you have to keep up with repairs but it is a remarkably reliable little English tractor that is used year-round. I'm a pretty good shade tree mechanic so I don't spend much on repairs but some of the problems with any old tractors can add up quick at the local shop."
"This lil' 4cyl deisel tractor was knocking when purchased. Tore motor down put new crank, bearings, oil pump, cam, cyl. sleves, rings, rods, pistons."
"It is a beast for a tractor under 50hp. Love it - gets the job done. It came with the property (free). I bought in June of 2010 sat for 3 years. I just had to put new fuel and a red top battery air up the all four tires a little either and it fired right up. After a good high water pressure wash i changed all the fluids. Till this day I've had zero issues with it."
