"I bought this tractor to replace an old Ford. I've had it a short time and had porous block trouble. It was resleeved and the problem was sorted. I love this tractor. It is nimble, easy to drive, great with haymaking equipment, the power steering is good and it has a great Q cab. It is well made and strong with a great little engine. "

Pros: good allrounder Cons: poor early block trouble (porous) Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: UK OT I also considered buying:

Overbuilt Tractor To Hand Down

"My first Ford and holy cow did they make these things strong and well built. The rear end looks like a beast and this tractor is very heavy. Has amazing torque all the way down to 1300 rpms which makes it super easy to drive and work. My previous tractor was a Kubota MWFD MX5100 and man what a piece of junk compared to this. No more high revving engines and spinning from poor traction because the tractor is to light. This 2x4 will walk circles around most 4x4 Kubotas. Don't get me wrong my past Kubota tractors fit and finish were good but just not built nearly as strong as this Ford 4610. I had no idea Fords were built like this. Easy to operate and parts are super easy to find. Not a super amount of frills but very comfortable and a joy to operate. I am now a Ford tractor man. Hate they stopped producing them as this old school steel is hard to beat."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Built like a tank and near indestructible. Cons: Not a lot of frills. No radio. Lol Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying:

Ford 4610 with MFWD is a Five Star Tractor

Model year: 1989 Date Purchased: 2011-10-21 Number of Hours: 2395

"First, this tractor starts when others won't. Second, it features rock-solid construction. Third, nearly every single part continues to be available from Ford/New Holland. Fourth, it has the power and weight to perform nearly any task. Fifth, with the MFWD 4-wheel drive arrangement (ours has it) not much stands in its way; mud, snow, swamp, etc. Sixth, the Category II 3-point is heavy-duty. Seventh, we can repair it ourselves. Eighth, it handles large implements (we have a 7-foot Ford 907 Flail Mover) with ease. Ninth, add a loader (we have one) and you can do pretty much and small, medium or large job with this machine. Tenth (finally): Ford tractor: blue machine with white rims and blue insets makes for one very sharp machine! "

Ford 4610 - Clutch Release Plate

Model year: 1984 Date Purchased: 1985-01-11 Number of Hours: 0

"I bought this old tractor (Ford 4610) from national government auction and trying to restore it. I've managed to get it started, but the clutch has gone, so I opened it up and found that other clutch components have also worn out. The most difficult part to find in my country is the clutch release plate that mounts on top of the pressure plate. Upon inquiry with part dealers, I find that I cannot buy the release plate alone, as it comes with the whole pressure plate. The whole pressure plate is too expensive and I don't need it right now. Wondering if any Ford tractor wreck owners in Australia or New Zealand can help me with this part. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: I think the old tractors are good. Cons: Still to use it. Type of User: Commercial Farmer Location: ASA OT I also considered buying:

Good Solid Tractor

"A good solid tractor with lots of power. I mow 60 acres with a 5' disc mower in 2nd gear high range. With the shifters on the steering column, it is easy to shift from forward to reverse by feel and still keep an eye on the ground or your equipment. I've never had a problem with starting. Parts are reasonable, but the dealer moved away so now I must order by mail. This tractor has been a great workhorse for 20 years. I don't have any use for the foot throttle as you can't use it will moving and tend to bump it getting off from the right side. My only complaint is noise. Because it is a larger tractor with only a three cylinders, it's quite loud. It would have been great to have the same horsepower with 4 cylinders instead. It is as good now as it was 20 years ago."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Always starts, lots of power, easy to manipulate for a bigger tractor. Cons: It's very loud - even at idle. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: CND OT I also considered buying: Ford 5610
