"Been a good reliable machine."
"After buying 50 acres with a need to clean it up and maintain it. I first had a 1948 Farmall C given to me. I quickly found that while I love the old tractor, what I was asking of it was too much. So after talking to everyone I know with tractor knowledge, reading all I could find and finally selling my Harley for funds, I went on a search for a 40-60 hp tractor that I could afford with my funds in hand. As luck would have it, I found a 4000 Ford in a nearby town that had been overhauled about 380 hour before I found it. The machine was strong and appeared to be well maintained and in their process I found a new friend in the Gentleman that I bought it from. Well to make my story shorter with upgrades in bushogs and other equipment we are making great strides in our clean-up. The 4000 is a 1966 model has the long power steering cylinder, which leaked but I found a local that rebuilt it for less than I could find parts. It has the extending lift arms and adjustable stabilizer arms so hook up is always easy. The thing that I never stop being amazed about is how little fuel it uses, I guess I forgot to say it is diesel. I have cleared at least twenty acres so far and can't wait for next spring/summer so I can plant green fields with it. I got a planter from a friend, looking for disk but have a turning plow, It will be great to see the deer feeding on the crops I have planned to plant."
