"I bought this tractor used with 398 hours on it and have added another 1000. Still has plenty of life left. I've pushed it way beyond reasonable limits at times and on occasion paid the price (for repair), but the tractor itself has been great. Other than changing fluids and filters I've only had to replace a water pump to date."
"Only problem I have is that it overheats in summer. I think this is because it has only had water without any additives as the cooling medium. Hydraulics filter is in a ridiculous place. Operator position is a bit tight."
"Got a well used Ford 1900 4WD with loader. 3 cyl. Shibaura Diesel and auto trans. Tractor starts, runs well, has plenty of power to run implements needed. LOVE the 2 stage clutch and 4WD. Plan on using the loader to clean barn stalls and for snow removal in the winter. No issues so far, seems to be a decent built tractor."
"Bought the tractor relatively cheap. $5400 and came with FEL. Used one summer just fine. Then had to change the double clutch. Could not have done it without the help I got on this forum. Did some other minor stuff. Works fine now. "
"I have already put 29hrs on it in a very short time and not one complaint about the quality. It does grind when I engage the pto, but I am having that fixed. It has good power, low end torque. Great tractor for small place. I bush hog with a 4ft King Kutter. I disk with a 16 tine disk, I plow with a small cultivator, I scrape the driveway with a 5ft scrape blade. It does what I bought it to do. "
"It's a great tractor for my use. It has a backhoe on it so it does a lot. I mainly use it for spreading grave in my drive way, picking up brush around the yard. It is small and gets around all my stuff in the property. Starts right up and is good on fuel. I love it."
"Purchased with hydraulic leak in one cylinder on loader. Fixed that easy. Used approximately 50-70 hours shredding. Clutch started slipping. In process of changing clutch and stuff now. will get parts today (11/02/2012). also having radiator done. water pump coming also, but tractor not over heatin'. preventive maintenance."
"Bought the little 1900 with a loader at auction and paid a bit more than probably worth. Was close enough to home to drive it so convenience was a plus. Changed all the fluids and cleaned the hydraulic filter (mess) and it's a fine running, powerful little machine. Just right for what I need and I'm pleased not to have spent 3x on a new one."
"I got my Ford 1900 used from a private seller, only had 1320 hours on it and looked like it was brand new. The only issue that was wrong with it was the front grill had been smashed and was broken but still in place. Also, the bottom edge of the hood had started to rust through, I ended up taking the hood to a welder and it was fixed for 60 bucks! Bought a perforated metal sheet and made my own front grill, much sturdier and it looks great! Some parts are getting harder to find for this model also are pretty expensive! But overall the tractor starts up every time. I went with the older model to get the reliability and I did not need all the extra crap that comes with the new tractors, I grew up on a clutch tractor and have no issues with it. Also the clutch is butter smooth on this tractor!"
"We bought this tractor used in 1988. Though 8 years old, it had less than 500 hours, mainly bush hogging. Through the years it has been our primary, then secondary, now back to primary tractor, tilling a 5-6 acre market garden (with a 60" rotovator) along with some bush hogging duties (60 " Bush Hog-came with the tractor.) It has been a gutsy little tractor, more industrious than I would have ever imagined 23 years ago."
