"I pick this tractor up to do snow removal and some yard work. It came with a front end loader and it has a three point hitch with live PTO. It was used and neglected, the oil was like tar, the front end loader frame is loose and was cracked in places. I have to change the king pins in the front end because by the looks of things it was never greased. Other than that I like the tractor. With a little TLC it starts and runs fine. It does what I need it to do. With the two cylinder diesel it runs a long time on a tank of fuel. "
"I just purchased this little Ford 1600 to get some things done around the house. It should be a good project. It needs a little TLC but mechanically it runs and drives out great! A bit ugly but beauty on this one definitely isn't skin deep. My ratings are basically illegitimate in that I haven't owned it long enough to give a credible review. "
"Bought an old Ford 1600 used. I've used it for mostly shredding and moving felled trees and a little dirt work. It is a very reliable tractor. Maybe slightly underpowered, but very reliable and durable. It is old and simple, and fairly easy to maintain. It generally handles 5 foot implements, but would benefit from another 5 hp with them."
"Oldy but goody. Plow, my garden and till about 75 x150 ft. Mow all summer with a 6' woods belly mower. Then plow snow all winter with a 6'hydraulic blade. Uses little diesel fuel and runs great! I also split wood with my 3 pt tractor. Every one said it was too little but it handles splitter real well. Maybe not as fast as a bigger tractor. But plenty for two person operation."
