"The review of my old Ferguson. I bought it in the early 1990's after it spun a rod bearing. The crank was stepped 60 thousands and I couldn't (or wouldn't!) afford to put a new crank in it. I replaced the insert and put it back together. I ran okay if you didn't wind it up. I've used it since then for picking things up and plowing snow and whatever else I needed it for. I bought a salvage yard with my brothers in 1997 and when we started this old tractor was all we had to move cars, pull engines, clean debris with a York rake and plow snow or dig a trench. After we bought a loader the old tractor came home and resumed it's gentile retirement. It is a very tired old tractor but I hope to fix it some day. In the meantime I use it still to replace my aching back. Would I sell it? Nope, it's too tired to be worked as it should but it does what I need it for. I truly like this cantankerous old beast. I rarely spend more than an hour each year to bring it back to life for the season. If you want perfection buy a new one and trade it in every 3 or 4 years. If you need an old dog to leave sit 95% of the time buy a TO-20 Ferguson! It has the road speed that an 8N or 9N Ford could never hope to copy. The overhead valve engine is superior to the flat head design of most other tractors of the period AND it uses much less fuel than a Ford. The only thing I don't like is the foot brakes for left and right turn are not on the same side. It takes up a bunch of leg room. I finally gave up and removed the L/R pedals and rely on the main brake pedal. Overall, I like my old machine. It will stay with me until I find a better machine or a donor machine so I can upgrade but I'll stay with a vintage tractor. I will never buy a new one. I will never have one that relies on a computer to run. I can fix 90% of any issues with a few wrenches and a little time!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Inexpensive, good road speed, tough. Cons: 6 volt charging system must be replaced. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA VA I also considered buying: John Deere MT, Ford 2000, Farmall Super A

"A co-worker said he wanted to offload a tractor so he could buy a backhoe. He said it ran, so sight unseen, for $500.00, I took him up on it. I have less than 1/2 acre with 1/2 fenced off and full of weeds when it rains so I figured I could use a tractor to play around with back there. I would have been better off if I had hired an alien, which we have more of than old tractors. I've spent more time and money on parts, tires, brakes, oil, generator conversion, water pump, points and plugs, coil, than I have come close to playing around back there. BUT I'VE GOT TRACTOR FEVER! Sometimes I spend hours digging caked on dirt off just to visit my FERGUSON TO20."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: I love old country memories. Not that I would like to live them over, there was some tough times. Cons: Needs to be used often. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA CA I also considered buying:

"The first tractor I ever drove was a Ferguson TO20. I used to rake hay all summer with it. I found this old Ferguson decaying away. It had not been started for over 10 years. Was supposed to be complete. Price was right so I bought it to restore. Found out the hydraulics had been cannibalized and engine needs an overhaul. Have found all the parts for the hydraulics and have that system rebuilt. Now working on the engine. Looking forward to getting it finished. Have no plans to use when complete. Maybe snow removal in winter. Brings back good memories."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: The original Ferguson system hydraulics. Cons: Was beaten and abused in prior life. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA UT I also considered buying:

"This tractor isn't too bad when it comes to the smaller jobs. It woul be nice to have hydraulic hook ups to run accesseries. Still, it is useful. I plow my drive very well and very rarely get stuck. It does what it is supposed to do. Even after all the years it has on it."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Still running strong after all these years. Cons: No hydraulics. Could be a little bigger. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying:
