"I bought a Farmtrac 45 new in 2002. It has over 500 hours, mostly bush hog work. It always starts, summer and winter. I had the injector pump rebuilt, which was disappointing but that's the only problem I've encountered in fourteen years. It is pretty reliable overall."

"I purchased a used Farmtrac 45 from an estate sale of a John Deere dealership. My tractor has so far done everything I have asked it to do. The only problem seems to be getting the correct parts the first time from a parts dealer in New York. I just ordered a front bumper, and low and behold, the mounting bolt holes were wrong. IT's a good thing that I have a friend with his own machine shop. This will be resolved this weekend by modification."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Runs well and holds up under heavy work Cons: Parts are hit and miss, mostly miss from some vendors. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA GA I also considered buying:

"I once again writing on your blog. Thanks for it.. I am basically a farmer and have been a tractor owner from 80's when I owned Ford 3600 first model. I earned a lot out of it and in 2007 bought Farmtrac 50EPI, which I wished will be a money minting machine for me, but it turned a case of my mental agony and tension. It showed manufacturing defect within 3 months after I purchased it. I approached umpteen times to the dealer but did not got a fruitful response in it.That is lying at my residence and seems a devil to me. Gh Mohammad Dar Jammu and Kashmir India"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: None. Cons: Whole tractor is engineered wrong. Type of User: Commercial Farmer Location: ASA OT I also considered buying:

"Purchased the Long FarmTrac to be used for mowing, plowing and general land work - no loader. Have had continuing problems with hydralics. Problem is now compounded since they went out of business and parts are impossible to get. The dealer kept tractor 6 weeks looking for seals, finally had them made locally repaired side leaking, now other side is leaking. Worst purchase ever - just a big piece of JUNK. Will never buy foreign again."

Pros: Cheap - got what I paid for. Cons: Everything. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA TX I also considered buying:

"I am Mehraj Udin from India, Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar. My Father has purchased Farmtrac 50EPI on May 2007 financed by J and K Bank for Rs.5,57,000 (finance Rs.2,46,000) and we were assured 12 months or 1500 hrs. warranty - whichever is earlier. It shows manufacturing defects within 3 months of operation. We approached umpteen times to the dealer but all in vain. Later it stops working. It lies as a scrap at our residence. As it was the only source of income of our family, we approached the consumer court and lodged a case against the company, but until now no outcome is there from the court. We sold every valuable assets to pay off the debt still have to pay nearly 2l acs., but now we are insolvent and my father says that it seems a devil to him and tried lot of times to do suicide. We still hope for the best. Photos not available now, but will be after Feb. 8th. because I'm at friends home who suggests this for me, but photos will be available after 8-Feb,2011. Mehraj Udin India (Jammu and Kashmir) Srinagar. "
