Model year: 1976 Date Purchased: 1976-03-15 Number of Hours:

"My in-laws own many tractors but the ones I've adopted are the 140s. They are almost 40 years old and still very useful around the farm for gardening as well as keeping the middles between the rows of nursery plants clean. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: All-around usefulness, especially the 'offset' operator platform which is nice for being able to see while straddling the rows and plowing dirt toward the plants. Cons: Tough to get a good schematic. The electrical system has gone through several changes over the years. I having a problem with the battery charging circuit. "I was raised on a farm and we always helped our neighbors on their farm. Two different farmers had 140 Farmalls and I used them some while helping them I had wanted one for years and finally found one in the market bulleton. Went to look at it. The owner was nearing 80 years old; made the deal (great price too) and purchased it. I have really enjoyed the tractor, use it mostly for a garden."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Best all around small tractor for gardening etc. Cons: There always seems to be a oil seep somewhere on it. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA GA I also considered buying:

"I got this with a 1110 seven foot mid mount sickle bar. The 140 and the mower both have a bullet proof design and are well made. It is an economical way to keep the brush down, looks way better than using a brush hog, plus it allows easier trimming next to the woods and road. Sips fuel, works hard, will outlast me!"

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy to repair and service. Cons: 40 year old tractor needs service and repair more often than a new tractor. Type of User: Homeowner 1-10 Acres Location: USA NY I also considered buying:
