"I have 20 years of experience farming with my father and my brother. After four years, (1989-1992) of low grain prices and very little profit; we decided to sell our equipment, stop renting land from others, and lease our farm land to the highest bidder. We realized that the risk was too high and that we could lose what property and equipment that we had acquired over the years. I went to work at a nearby Weyerhaeuser Pulp and Paper Mill. I had been working there for 10 years when I suffered a back injury. I had to go on disability. When my father passed away, I inherited 100 acres of land (60 acres of cleared farm land). I decided that I wanted to try to tend a garden but I needed to figure out how to do it with my back condition. After much thought, I purchased a Farmall 130 tractor with fast hitch equipment. That, along with a lot of changes in the way I did things allowed me to accomplish my goal. When I was farming, we had 3 Farmall Super A tractors along with several larger tractors. I knew that I couldn't change the equipment on a Super A. I have to credit the fast hitch along with an overhead chain hoist that allowed me to be able to change equipment. There are still jobs in the garden that I can't do by myself but I am constantly making changes that makes it easier for me to grow and tend a garden. I will be glad to explain how I get my garden planted some time. I was born a dirt farmer with dirt under my finger nails and farming in my blood. Nothing will ever change that! It has been quite a chore locating attachments and implements for my 130 and I am still looking for a few items. I also have more work to do to my tractor but I will complete it Lord willing. The toughest job ahead will be passing on my knowledge of farming and gardening to my step son. That process will begin this spring. By the way, I am only tending a garden, I lease the additional land to my neighbor."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: This is an off-set tractor which has excellent visibility for tillage, planting and cultivating. Cons: The fast-hitch wears out easily; therefore there is lots of loose motion (side to side) . With tillage implements, this is not much of a problem. When planting on a row, it is hard to keep the planter centered on top of the row. Type of User: Homeowner 100+ Acres Location: USA NC I also considered buying: International Harvester 274, International Harvester 574, Farmall 140
