"We own a small farm and breed some horses. Every year we have to fill the barn with at least 500 hay packs. This activity was, ten years ago, very easy to perform. We used mostly the phone and contract the service for plowing, seeding, cutting and packing. These services were cheap and simple to acquire. Nowadays, it's very expensive to pack hay. So we decided to buy the machines to do it. We began with the tractor and now we´re buying a Claas packer. The tractor is a bit hard to steer (manual) and smokes a lot. We do a 150 hours per year work. With this operation we managed to reduce coasts of of farm to half."
"I may be off on the age of this tractor. I bought this tractor used from a local dealer, Noble Tractor in Armstrong,BC. The dealer insisted on taking it apart before selling it to me because he thought the clutch was slipping. While apart, he had it checked over completely. No increase in cost, to me. I've used it since to till, drag logs, move manure, plow roads, everything. It has never failed me and it has never needed major parts replacements. It is showing its age. I'm thinking of restoring it."
"I bought this old 1390 because farm works are getting too expensive. We breed horses and 600 hay bales are needed every year. So plowing and seeding are easy for my 16 year old son and any old 50hp tractor will do. It took us a few hours in internet to choose this machine. Here in Portugal this kind of tractor ( 30 years old or so) still coast about $2500 or more. I expect to work with it for many more years ( as long as we breed horses ) and hope it will not fail. "
