"I bought this garden tractor because it looked cool. It looked like small version of a real tractor. It is around 1970 vintage and the wiring is all rotted but it still runs. So far I have rebuilt the carb and added a new fuel filter, fuel line and shut off. I am on the edge of the Black Forest Fire in Colorado Springs and everyone North of me including next door got evacuated, I was on voluntary evacuation and so prepared my stuff worth saving including my 147 best I could. This turned out to be driving the 147 into the middle of my 3 acre field in the hopes that if the winds shifted and came my way it would maybe have a chance of surviving. The nearest the fire came so far was about 3 miles but I tell you when you have DC10 air tankers and Air Force twin blade helicopters as well as every other sort of equipment flying directly over your house the fire seemed mighty close to me. In time I hope to do a full restore on the 147 but in the meantime I have about 40 years of undone maintenance to do around the house, tree limb cutting and removal of dead pine needles that the previous owners of this property never took care of. Myself and my family have newly bought this foreclosed property and only two weeks ago and started to clean around the house. I do now I will have to get a larger tractor for the open areas or contract this out as the 147 will be to small to do it all."
