Cub Cadet GTX2000: Poor Quality at a High Price

Model year: 2012 Date Purchased: 2014-03-01 Number of Hours: 27

"I went w/Cub Cadet once again after owning them twice prior (no complaints other than deck clogging) to my last mower, a Kubota GR2100 that had junk tranny. Bad move. Seems as though Cub quality has taken a deep trip South since I last owned them (1994-2007). Where to begin... Oh, when dealer went to load it to deliver, the "great" electronic power steering wasn't acting right. They delayed delivery a week to put a new steering unit on. Dealer never leveled deck, so had to do that. After about 5 hours, when I got done mowing, a nice clicking sound is coming from tranny. Dealer said nothing to worry about, series 2000 have done that since they came back out and noise will go away. Well, at 27 hours, the noise is still there---sometimes. 48" fabricated deck-still clogs, mowing dry grass, w/ hi-lift blades and with the Cub X-treme blades (like Gator blades). Plastic hood is too big and wide-not easy to see how close you are to something, along w/the nice rubbing on the black cowl that leaves real nice white marks. Plastic headlight lenses are junk---not a tight fit; allow dust/debris to get in behind them next to nice, hot bulbs that are ALWAYS on---WHY? Why do you need headlights on constantly when mowing in daytime? Why is there no switch to turn on/off? Cub Cadet badge fell off front of hood while mowing---adhesive failed (or lack thereof). Really disappointed in this mower. Definitely wouldn't buy another Cub---too cheaply made for the price they are."
