Model year: 2004 Date Purchased: 2013-04-14 Number of Hours: 284

"I bought a cub 7284 in April of 2013. When I test drove it at the dealer the PTO acted weird. Salesman says you just wasn't in the correct position. Got it home (not a short drive). The PTO wont work at all, and the 4x4 don't work. So I take a long drive back to the dealer 2 weeks later. I get the cc back and dealer tells me that's just the way the 4x4 works, it will kick in but you have to be stuck---say what? The cows may come and go but the bull goes on forever! So I use the tractor another week and know the PTO is leaking out the rear shaft, the left front axle shaft is leaking, diff lock don't work, and the 4x4 it might work most likely not. "

"This is my 2nd Cub tractor. First one was 5000 series model with a Kawasaki engine that was so bad that my dealer took it back after 2 years with full refund. That should have been my heads up regarding CC tractors. I love my 7284 when it works--which is seldom. The Perkins diesel engine is great and is the best thing about this tractor. I mow with a 60" mower, snow blow with a 54" blower and mow pastures with a brush hog. The design of this machine is horrible, the electronics quit after 150 hours, muffler has been replaced three times as it falls off due to vibrations. The throttle cable loosens every 50 hours and is impossible to get to to tighten without taking everything apart. Would not buy another CC but not sure what else is out there that is any better."
