"When MTD made this model they really cheapen it up from the previous model. I this unit really cheap and I got what I paid for.I have had to do a lot of repairs to get it half way decent."

"I loved the 1862 cub cadet at first and still do when its running. it seems to always break down when I need it most and is very difficult to work on most parts are designed without regard for ease of repair, hardware almost impossible to get at and have very few threaded inserts and have hardware placed in the most difficult to get at positions. to many proprietary items, hydro lines with to lift valve can be impossible to seal at times and I am down weeks at a time. All parts are special order and part numbers are not be trusted even from dealer, manuals have incorrect part numbers and can double your down time. you must become familiar with your own model because no one is there to help unless you have a large bankroll. "
