"Great machine. Every one I've seen the hood is cracked or smashed in. It was just to big and bulky for the average drive not to wreck. Headlights are not very bright. Clear lens fogged up over time. Also these are powered directly off the generator. Unless your at full throttle they are not fully powered. "
"Originally when I was given this tractor, it wasn't running. I rewired it and got it back into usable condition. It was relocated to my father in PA where he used it for 6 years. When he passed away, I found it with the front axle broken and the mower deck in bad shape. His neighbor informed me it hadn't been started since 2006. I brought it back to MD and figured I'd toy around with it, but first I needed to know if it still ran. With some new gas, spark plug, and new battery, it fired right up. The numbers I was able to get off of it are 502.253760 and 19940431. I'm not sure of the exact year, but it has now been added to the collection."
"Hi, this is an old design 11HP with one of the first 38 inch decks. Great little tractor! I got it from a customer who stopped checking his oil, and blew the original Tecumseh OHV. I put the Briggs 11 HP L head off an MTD piece of junk (not hating MTD. I got another MTD tractor and chipper I LOVE) and just last year the tranny finally died. Never mowed a lawn with it. For the first 8 years the customer mowed a pasture, since about 96 I have mowed rocks, chaparral, brush, tree trimmings with it."
