"I bought this tractor with about 65 hours on it. It's the perfect size I need for mowing, plowing snow, moving dirt and gravel and hauling firewood. The hydro makes it easy to drive and in combination with the MFD, that's important in the hilly terrain where I live. It came with a loader and while I knew I wanted one, I underestimated how much I would use it. Other than regular maintenance (oil, filter, battery), it's been trouble free."
"Nice tractor, basic features with front bucket. Not many hours but seems to be okay."
" I bought this tractor new after a smaller JD-420 had repeated hydraulic problems ($$$$$!) The dealer experience was excellent, even to letting me use it for several days to see if I liked it. I originally was looking for a 30-35 HP tractor, but the deal on this one was very good. I like the extra power and the heavier loader. One of the best features is the quick-detach on the loader, basically a Bobcat system. I can switch between a bucket and pallet forks in about 2 minutes. I did a lot of dirt work with it, filling in an old pond. The loader control and the hydrostatic transmission is excellent for this. The variable transmission has two ranges (lever selected) and then a high-low setting within each range (switch selectable). You can shift ranges with buttons on the loader joystick. Other chores includes mowing (the cruise control is nice), digging post holes, running a PTO chipper, etc. I had a hydraulic top-link installed for working with a box blade. The 3-point hitch is very solid, and features extendable arms. The tractor is somewhat "tippy". Part of the purchase was to have the dealer fill the rear tires with anti-freeze ballast, which fixed the problem. I would consider this essential for this tractor. The front grill guard is an option, but definitely get it. I talked the dealer into including it at no cost. Maintenance is generally easy, the entire hood lifts up and you have good access to the engine. The worst thing about this tractor is the location of the filters. The hydraulic and fuel filters are just plain hard to get at, blocked by either hydraulic lines or frame parts. No one should be allowed to design a tractor without actually trying to do maintenance on it! Only problem so far was a leaking hydraulic line, which the dealer fixed in the field under warranty. Filters aside, this is a great tractor, and I would buy it again."
"The tractor is very reliable and the dealer service is excellent. I bought it at Dan's Farm Supply in Adrain MI. The tractor is used to drag pasture and also pulls 80 bu. manure spreader."
