"I wasn't sure if this tractor was going to fit my needs, but boy was I impressed. This tractor is very intuitively designed. I find everything I do with the machine is much easier than any other machine I owned previously. The traction is excellent, and the reliability is wonderful. If anyone wants a comfy tractor that can take a beating, this is the one for you. "

Pros: Reliability. Cons: The fact they don't make them anymore. Type of User: Commercial Landscape Location: USA NY I also considered buying:

"After a year of using this machine I feel confident in writing an objective review. Overall, a very satisfactory little tractor. I have the cab, box blade, snow plow and loader as well. Strong performance for what I need. I had a hydro JD once, but traded up to a larger JD because I needed the power. Soon found out that bigger isn't better for every situation. Spoiled, I HAD to get another hydro for the small jobs. The only real mechanical issue was a blown O ring in the hydraulic assembly underneath. Dealership fix; no further problems. The one thing I wish it had is larger rear tires. When I think "Front Wheel Assist" I feel you shouldn't have to run the MFWD all the time. A comparable 2wd tractor would have 28" rear tires, not 24". Also, these models require a little break in time to loosen up before you get maximum performance; otherwise a great little tractor."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Value; cab size; features. Cons: Rear tire size, although some competitors are worse yet. Type of User: Commercial Construction Location: USA MN I also considered buying: John Deere 3520, Kubota L3940

"We stepped up from a CT 225, to a CT440 with the same options. Obviously the 440 has more power and is heavier. But we also like the layout of the 440 station a bit better. the tilt steering using a pedal is much easier than the 225 hidden leaver. also like the push button 4 wheel drive and the throttle lock. Also like the two separate pedals for the hst versus the rocker on the 225. the rear control for the 3 point is nice to make fine adjustments while hooking up with out having to walk around to the station to grab the lever. only dislike is the trans has to be in neutral to start it. unlike the 225 as long as the brake was locked it would start. all in all love the purchase."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Value and added work station features. Really like the rear 3pt adjusment lever. Cons: Neutral start only. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA MO I also considered buying: Kubota L4400, John Deere 3040

"While I have no experience with tractors, my father-in-law, with over 60 years, titled this article after using the tractor a day or two. We can't get him off it. I chose it essentially sight unseen for its balance of features, size and price. We use it to mow including light use of a rotary cutter and some loader work. It handles 6 foot implements including full buckets or earth or rock with ease. The nearest dealer is over 50 miles away and the 50 hr service was incredibly expensive which is my only negative experience."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Balance of features and size for the price. Cons: High price of service including the infamous fluids. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: USA VA I also considered buying: John Deere 3038E, New Holland Boomer TC35

"I haven't had a chance to work my machine other than drive it down the road. I have to admit that I am quite impressed with the balance of the machine as it travels down the road. It is much smoother than any 410 John Deere that I have ever driven down the roadway. It is too early to say anything other than everything looks quite good. I have been over the machine from top to bottom an everything seems to be in order. Dealer service has been excellent with great communication and understanding of my situation and was very patient in his dealings with me."

Sway Bar Adjustments

Model year: 2009 Date Purchased: 2009-05-06 Number of Hours: 275

"I have a CT 440 tractor and the sway bard adjustments are extremely under rated for this model tractor. First of all the connect pins joining the sway bar to the tractor continue to break and or come out. Secondly the whole mechanism is too flimsy for this horse power. Where the sway bar connects to the tractor is currently broke on one side. You cannot push anything using a box blade in reverse without causing some kid of damage to the sway bars."

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Easy to adjust. Cons: Very bad design for this horse power tractor. Type of User: Homeowner 10-50 Acres Location: USA LA I also considered buying:

"Had the CT440 since last summer. Have used it in all four seasons now and I am very satisfied. Dealership very prompt and helpful. Only problem was pin-hole leak in weld on hydraulic pipe. Dealer was out first thing next morning. Tractor spent the night in the dealer's shop and returned next day. Only gave 4 stars for performance as it could use a little more horsepower, however the CT445 or CT450 would rectify that. More than enough performance for my purposes. "

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Very user friendly and comfortable to operate. Well built, no paint problems, The incentive Pricing program, Lot's of tractor for the price. Cons: Fuel burn rate is higher than expected. Type of User: Homeowner 50-100 Acres Location: CND OT I also considered buying: Kubota B4200, John Deere 2240
